strange channel problem after pitching with audacity

hey folks,
my problem is the following:
i got 2 files of a movie,

a 25 fps version in german
and a 23,976 fps version in english

because i want both audio streams in one file i demuxed the german 25 fps stream to wav and converted it to 23,976 fps in besweet. alrite so far.

due to the conversion the pitch of that audio file got "deeper" so i pitched it up by 4,1 % in audacity. the pitch matches now but i sounds as if the sound floats from left to right and back. its very disturbing.

well, it's a result of the audacity pitching process, but what should i do instead?

thanks
