yes, i posted that while i was still downloading and installing Rhapsody...it is just as good as URGE! Unlimited downloads, still in WMA format Granted, the interface bites and isn't as easy to browse and find songs, but I can live with that. Fairuse4wm still works too. i was worried because when it installed it said "updating digital rights management", and i was like "Darn", but then when i downloaded a whole album, and fairuse4wm still worked, i was happy.
oh, plus...it is FREE for current Urge subscribers until 2008 i was paying $10 month to month, and now dont have to pay anything for 5 months ::: milOtis -edit- DOWNSIDE: files are now 160kbps downloads instead of 192kbps and URGE music not available for download through Rhapsody...URGE has 75% more music than Rhapsody including all the normal studio CDs, but also DJ remixes, single cd releases, artist imports, etc...Rhapsody has none of these Last edited by milOtis; 23rd August 2007 at 17:22. |

Use of FU4W with encrypted videos
I have downloaded (by mistake) a number of videos which, in VLC play with loads of screen corruption and in WMP bring up a DRM message and then a webpage asking for payment to get a pwd.
Should FU4W disable this and make the video playable? The v1.3 I just downloaded, when run on one of the videos, quickly says that I don't own rights to the video!! Not very helpful! I am doing it right or is there another way to overcome this block on my fun! Thank-you Nigel |

you updated to a new version of media player, thus a new version of IBX...the IBX is based on your media player version, so you cannot go back an undo it anymore. you would need to redownload the file under your new updated DRM setup, then you will be able to remove DRM.
you also need to run the first step of fairuse4wm again...when it opens, click back, and recquire keys. if you are using the new fairuse4wm 1.3 fix2, then then use the secondary program to reaquire keys. you have to do that since you updated. ::: milOtis |

Hi everyone. I have used FairUse 3/4 months ago under WinXP and the media player that came with it and everything worked OK... But now I bought a laptop with Vista and I'm confused, which version do I need to be able to remove DRM from my wmv files?
Thanks in advance. Edit: The files play fine in windows media player (11), so I think everything is ok with the licenses... I just don't now how to get the DRM off... Edit2: Forget it, all I had to do was reading a bit in the topics :P Last edited by samukas; 24th August 2007 at 19:23. |

trying to figure out FU4wm 1.3fix
ok here is the deal. I have some porn .wmv files that I am trying to burn to disk so I can play on my dvd player. I am use ashampoo to burn my wmv files to dvd and it works fine. except when I have drm's in the wmv files then ashampoo says it cant use the wmv file.
so i was able to get fairuse4wm 1.3 fix but I cant figure out how to get the wmv files with the drm into the fairuse4wm program so it can do its thing. it wont let me drag the wmv files into the fairuse4wm window. I try to bring the wmv file up on my media player (it is version 11.0.5721) to ask for the liscense and it never asks me it just plays it all the time. cause I thought I read that you run fairuse4wm when you are on that screen. I think it asked once but hasnt sense. when I run fairuse4wm I get this Extraction in progress on "Indiv01.key" 11.0.6000.6324 -- Please wait. Phase 0 : Blocks: 1340 Large 0 Small, Errors: 0,0 Candidates: 6,3,2 Failure - Unable to identify RC4 and AES internal keys. if anyone can help I'd appreciate it because they are great wmv files and I would love to get them on my big screen thanks Hank |

then fairuse 4wm says
attempting to recover DRMv1 keys Fairuse4wm will use a WM-installed DLL to determine system specific information "DrmClien.DLL" has version 10.0.0.3646 I just got windows media player to ask me for a liscense on the wmv file so I stopped at that screen and opened fairuse4wm 1.3fix to try to run it and got the same results nothing' thanks in advance |
