ok, i have only been doin dvd's for like 2 weeks now but i have learned a lot of stuff, this is the easy way to make Divx rips easily, its got screenshots, step by step instructions, instructions for both 1 pass and 2 pass, everything!!

why .doc?
why not html w/ pictures?
i don't have word installed and write can't show your pictures

Nice work, but nothing new to me

Why do you encode the audio using a temp .wav instead of using vob2audio, which encodes directly from vob to mp3? And IMHO the Keyframe Intervall is to high. How about scenes of 2-3 minutes without a scene change? Forwarding the movie will take some time because of the great intervall between 2 keyframes. I set one every 10 seconds, this makes forwarding much faster.

I second that...it's bad enough we're forced to use their OS, don't make us buy their word processor too.

i'll try make it into html format soon
i used DVD2AVI to get the .wav file instead of vob2audio cos vob2audio is a bitch program and never works (it shows no streams, well for me anyway) and other people have reported this too

keyframe is set to 99999 because if you set it at 10, it makes more keyframes, reducing image quality

how can this reduce image quality? Since a keyframe is the whole Complete frame not just changes from the last frame.. so if you have more Keyframes you will gain quality not loose.. but then your file will be larger because of more bitrate used for the keyframe.

Nice work cyrax83 !

But DVD2AVI seems to be wrong some times!?

My last movie was PAL and definitly NOT Interlaced, but DVD2AVI said: Frame Type Interlaced.

Maybe you should to mention that in your guide.

I get that particular prob as well - it's not actually
interlaced normally most of the time (there are exceptions
though i think)

From doom9' guides: (PAL source only)...If the frame type is Interlaced, start the preview again and watch closely if you see no horizontal black lines going thru the picture then the frames are actually progressive...

Prolly your guide should mention this as well cyrax83...
and htmls the way to go - word sux!!

I have spent all night!! (6 hours!!) making this html format and fixing all the bugs and stuff, it is finally perfect! Man this is good stuff, i am even impressed by myself as to how good it is!!
