Errors during VOB extraction!

Hi guys!

I've one little problem: when I want to back-up my copy of "2001: a space odyssey", during the extraction with dvd-decrypter I have 5 consecutives damaged sector (10kbytes). When I mount the image with alcohol virtual drive and play it back with PowerDVD, these bad sectors don't affect the playback (just one little glitch).

Then, when I extract from the image the video/audio tracks I want (with "no-compression") with DVD-Shrink again I have no errors.

Then comes the problem: I want to back-up my copy with dvd-rebuilder. When CCE makes the first vaf pass, it crashes at the point (probably) where there are those damaged sectors.

So my question: is there any tool that is able to repair damaged vobs (or at least replace bad sectors with something else)?

Tnx for any answer!

Errors During VOB extract

Hi ,

I've had similar problems when I extracted some VOB-files.
Everytime at the same place , DVD shrink , DVD decrypter crashed during the action.

Since I didn't find a good solution , I used CHOPPERXP :
FILE => open VOB => browse to the location and open that corrupt VOB .

Now you can extract and save the vob file from the beginning to the place were decrypter crash . The you do the same after the corrupt part to the end.

Afterwards you put these new VOB's together with a program called VOBmerge

Finishing touch need a DVD authouring program like DVDremake , menuEdit, Ifo Edit.

This worked fine for me .

Kind regards Scenicsport
