Why the official web version is more clear than the DVD version?
Why is the official web (youtube) version more clear than the DVD version?
Always, the official web version is sharpen and colorful than the dvd version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ4Zv17niKI: DVD version: DVD version: DVD version: As seen, the youtube version has different color with the DVD version. The youtube version always offer sharper lines in the picture. Why? First of all you should not attach your screenshots to your posts at Doom9, because it can take forever before a mod approves your attachments. Upload the pictures to an image hoster instead.
What is the resolution of the "official web version"? You might know that the DVD standard only supports a maximum resolution of 720 x 576 (PAL) or 720 x 480 (NTSC). If you need HD quality for your output then the DVD format is not for you. |

"official web version" is youtube version. What I described was not about the dvd resolution. What I described was the picture style not the picture quality. Due to the visible differences of picture style between the youtube version and DVD version,I didn't compare them in the same resolution. |

Yes, could be very well different masters. YouTube is also known for applying all kinds of filtering to their clips to "improve" the quality. Others say that most often they ruin the quality instead.
Whatever, I downloaded the clip from YouTube at the highest available resolution of 1080p. The download had the same colors you posted, but frankly I find these colors highly unnatural. Oversaturated candy colors. But who knows what the director had in mind... |

Telephone box/bus image,
first one, way too much blue [box/bus too near magenta], second one, way too pink. Somewhere in-betweem might be better.

Example 1:
Record company version (as the same as the DVD version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQRjf_2IjA0 MV director version: I don't believe that the MV director doesn't give the master version or bad quality version of MVs to the EGG Record company. But why did the Record company release a bad quality version on the Internet even on the DVD? |
