Problem to play 4K movies
I have a problem to play 4K movies on my HTPC.
I received black screen without picture, only sound. when I configure 4K display modes IN Madvr settings such as 2160p24, 2160p60 my HTPC try to change the resolution to 3840x2160 and I received black screen when playing movies. I remember that display modes should be configure for playing "smooth" 23.976 in HTPC without dropped frames but I'm not sure that it's necessary now. please let me know if it's necessary to set display modes. also, how can I know that 4K movies are playing in 3840x2160 output and 1080P output. Here is my setup CPU: core I5 7600 Kaby Lake Motherboard: Asus Z270 Memory: 16GB DDR4 GPU: AMD RX480 8GB, latest driver HDD: Samsung SSD 850 Pro OS: Windows 7 64Bit Player: zoom player 13.5 Filters: MadVR - Video, LAV - Audio Projector: JVC X9500 Madvr settings: Chroma: NGU Sharp (very high) Downscaling: SSIM 2D 100% + AR + LL Image upscaling: Jinc + AR Image doubling: Off Upscaling refinement: Off Artifact removal - Debanding: Low/Medium Artifact removal - Deringing: Off Image enhancements: crispen edges (1.0) + AR Dithering: Error Diffusion 2 LAV Settings DXVA copy-back |

my default resulution is 1920*1080, my projector - JVC X9500 is not "Native" 4K, with E-shift algoritem he there is a possiblity to output 4K resulution.
when I changing the resulution in my OS the movies playing very slowly with video judders. I have OPPP 203 player and everting works without any problem with 4K output. |

I do not think the 480 is fast enough for NGU very high chroma scaling, very high is overkill for chroma anyway. Try NGU high or NGU medium. Also SSIM 2D is too hard, stick to SSIM 1D.
I cannot run your settings with 4K material on my Titan X (Pascal) overclocked and water cooled, it isn't fast enough.

I try all the options, not working.
I need to configure the display modes in madvr settings? it's very strange, my hardware should be good for playing 4K content. I have kaby lake processor, RX480 Nitro with 8GB and 16GB memory. |

What does not working mean? You still have the black screen issue when changing the display mode?
Do you need madVR to do display mode changing? I always leave my display in its optimal mode and simply have madVR convert content to this mode, this is more responsive and has always worked better for me. edit: However, if this doesn't work it was always because I was attempting to switch to a mode that my display didn't support. I would start by resetting madVR to the defaults and setting my display to 4K in Windows. Does this have both an image and smooth playback?
