Which XviD version number??

A few days ago, codename_46, posed the same type of question over on the DivX section of the forum.

In the past, there were no tools available to produce the necessary "UserData" information required to help cross reference a codecs "release version number". However, today we have GSpot by stegre (SteveG) and MPEG4 Modifier by Moitah which are both capable of doing this.

So, can any of you guys help please?

And just to get the ball rolling....
Code:

UserData No | Release Version No | Release Date
XviD0036    = XviD1.0.2          | 29 Aug 2004
XviD0035    = XviD1.0.1          | 05 Jun 2004
XviD0034    = XviD1.0.0          | 16 May 2004
XviD0030    = XviDRC4 (Hola)     | 05 Apr 2004
XviD0029    = XviDRC3 (Ni hao)   | 29 Feb 2004
XviD0028    = XviDRC2 (Jambo)    | 07 Feb 2004
XviD0026    = XviDRC1 (Niltze)   | 25 Jan 2004
XviD0025    = XviDBeta3          | 26 Dec 2003
XviD0023    = XviDBeta2          | 05 Dec 2003
XviD0021    = XviDBeta1          | 03 Nov 2003
Cheers

EDIT: Many thanks to celtic_druid

XviD0036 is also shared by current cvs head builds. So forinstance although v1.0.2 will always be XviD0036, XviD0036 will not always be v1.0.2.

1.0.0 uses XviD0034
RC4 uses 0030
RC3 0029
RC2 0028
RC1 = 0026
beta3 = 0025
beta2 = 0023
beta1 = 0021

Here's something interesting XviD0001 was added on 2002/10/17. All older builds didn't have a bitstream version.

Anyone wants to check other bitstream versions can just look at: http://www.xvid.org/cvs/chora/cvs.ph...xvid.h?login=2

Just look at #define XVID_BS_VERSION

It must have taken you a few hours to compile,

Thanks Steve

thx - I've updated the list (incl the individual dates for the bitstream 3 versions). The next version of GSpot will have all this in it's dat file and the associated support code.

yeah, it reports the bitstream number directly, and calls it "build". The goal was to map that to a "version" number in the regular sense, e.g "v1.0.2" or whatever
