PAL encoding question...

Just a Quick Question here if anyone can answer this.
I need to know for later what setting to use in Avisynth for a PAL DVD that is 25 fps. and interlaced (or it seems to be).
Which do I use?
Do I Honor, Ignore, or Force Film???

Or Do i need to convert it with some sort of plugin for it to produce an XviD/DivX encoded AVI that will play on my standalone???

I must be missing something here????

Honor, Ignore and Force Film is intended for NTSC content (with telecine - rtt/tff flags).

For PAL, you can use Honor (or Ignore), NO force film.

You can learn more in dgindex guide.

For recompress to avi, you'll have to deinterlace that interlaced source before resize it.

If you are working with movies don't deinterlace: most PAL DVDs are flagged as interlaced, but they are progressive.
