Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out from "Case 39".

I just backed up "A-Team". I used the custom output size of 23500, and got 22.9Gb(24,607,336,840 bytes). Excellent! Now if it can just average this LOL!

Since that's also the default, why use "Custom"? Just select "BD-25".

Default I was averaging 22.4 - 22.5, and noticing(visually) that a significant amount of the disk was not being used. I assumed the default was smaller than that. But if you say it is 23500(0.37.01), I'll just go with the default setting. I was probably getting undersizing for unknown reasons.
The first time I ran the custom setting, I set it for 23450, and had a marginal increase in output size. I guess it was coincidence

I use 24600 (usually comes in at 99%) for all my movie only encodes and BD-25 for full backups which are usually Season Episode disc

That's been the default since v0.36.01. If you set it to a lower number and got an increase -- then it's likely you changed some other setting -- because the exact same code is executed regardless of the size. Usually any variation would be in audio selections, because they are a little more unpredictable in their muxing overhead (example: a 192Kbs AC3 can often take the same or more space than a 224Kbs one).

When I tried the 23450, it was with a new encode(And was unaware of the default size). Had I left it at default for that disk, it likely would have been larger. I only do a Re-encode if there is something seriously wrong. Or if somebody asks me to test something. At an average job time being 7 - 9hrs, it's irritating to have to re-encode something. Not really complaining here. I understand the term beta. I love new toys, and playing with them

Apparently something was changed for your decoding AVC video. Can you play the VID_00011.avs file BD-RB created in the Workfiles folder with MPC?
Usually a simple uninstall of Haali and ffdshow and then reinstall them will fix this.

I believe I’m encountering Cinavia protection problems as they are the same issues I find on known releases of Movies with Cinavia and I don’t seem to have problems with anything else. My system checks out OK and I don’t have any Codecs outside of the required ffdshows. I’ve even done a clean system reinstall thinking there may be some issues not apparent. So I’m curious if this is Cinavia or a possible issue in BD-RB but another reason I don’t think it is BD-RB is that I’ve used the not so good DVDFab8 and it produces the same problems, so the only other variable here is AnyDVDHD.

Problem:
If I rip the following titles and keep the HD Audio & DTS I have problems with the BD25’s losing audio and freezing in spots of the movies. It tends to be anywhere from 10minutes to 20minute intervals. I can fast forward a frame or two and it picks up again fine. Also the timer will stop and won’t always pick up again. If I play the BD25 rip with TMT3 it plays fine and TMT3 doesn’t have Cinavia protection scheme in it.

The problem is lessened when I choose to transcode and convert the DTS to AC3 and was even better when I unchecked the only use one language audio feature, which I didn’t like anyway as I wanted the directors commentary on track 4 instead of dup’n track 1 to track 4.

With Gladiator (2 disc) Sapphire Edition at 10:03 on the extended version and DTS intact it always drops out audio, glitches a bit, and then freezes until I fast forward a bit and then it is fine other than possibly the timer remaining froze. If I convert audio to AC3 then it glitches just slightly, hardly noticeable, and keeps playing until the next point of concern at 32:51 were it will probably freeze but most certainly the timer will freeze even if the audio/video doesn’t. When that happens if I fast forward it jumps back to the timer freeze point and continues on from there. Here are some of the points that the movie has problems in;

Gladiator Extended Version
10:03
32:51
54:10
1:10:18
1:21:39
I stopped here but the 10min marker is like clockwork but will play through when using AC3 where the later points are more apt to freeze at.

Here are the titles I’ve encounter this problem with using my Cinavia firmware LG BD370V player;

Resident Evil: Afterlife 2D
Iron Man 2 (2 disc)
Iron Man (2 disc)
Gladiator (2 disc) Sapphire Edition
Toy Story 3 (2 disc)

I have no problems though with other new titles like Case 39 & Inception and have ripped over 100 BD’s with only having the VC1 problems way back when.

It's gotta be either the media or the burner -- most likely the media. There's also a remote possibility it could be the muxing from TSMUXER -- but if it were there'd be a lot of other people getting it too, and that's not happening. Of course it looks like you're keeping all languages and that's unusual. I would think though that the fact that you run into issues with DVDFab also makes muxing issues unlikely.

Try keeping only the audio languages you speak/understand and let me know how if it acts differently.

Sorry but I won't look at those "wait forever" links you've posted. I hate those things.

Cinavia has nothing to do with it.

Still think it's most likely media.

I've used two burners, and different media and the problem is always exactly the same, at the same points. I bought a new burner thinking the same as you.

Use the "code" feature to wrap your text (it's the "#" symbol above where you'r typing when you're composing a reply) and it will make it a lot easier to read. I just did it with an edit of your post. Looks better, eh?

Try not keeping so many languages.

I'll try it with just the English main and directors comments track 4.

Sorry about the code thing I normally don't miss that.

I was just thinking that since it is rare that people keep more than a couple audio tracks (to improve video quality) there's always a chance that TSMUXER might be having trouble with it.

In fact... could you list the audio tracks so I can make a guess as to their total combined bitrate?

I have friends that speak Spanish so I typically like to keep that and since I'm not close to Quebec or the French Quarter here in the US I don't care about French.

I've restarted it with just English but am allowing multiple english channels. I hope that won't cause issue but I can always limit the Audio to one language if need be.

Original Audio Tracks are as follows:
T1 - English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio
T2 - French 5.1 Dolby Digital
T3 - Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital
T4 - DD 2ch Commentary by Director Ripley Scott

My thinking is that the combined bitrate of all the audios (especially when keeping HD) might be challenging the mux... or possible the total bitrate is too high causing the freeze. Just guessing...

These types of things might sometimes only show up on certain players (depending on internal buffering).

That's a definate possiblity and would be a good reason why keeping the DTS doesn't work well compared to converting the audio to AC3. But when converting to AC3 I still encounter problems so do you thing it is still the high bandwidth and tsmuxer? It could be my player as it doesn't have a huge buffer but it can play the original fine so that seems odd to me, I'm not saying it isn't so though.

Is your PC overclocked? I have done Gladiator and other movies where I have kept the main HD audio and 2-3 commentary tracks, and have never had an issue when playing back on my Sony S360.
