My Comp doesnt know what is xvid...

Hi all,
please help!
I have all the codecs that u can imagine :OP
all updated....ffdshow, xvid 24.03.03 build1100, nimo 5.0 codec pack, directx 9 etc etc
my comp is a PIII 800, Gforce 32 mb gts, 256 ram, win xp
all drives up to date....
but bsplayer (0.86), powerdvdxp 4.0 and win media player 9 dont play any xvid format videos...
Bsplayer says "unknown file format (Xvid)" !!!!
plz i thank u in advance for any help

Just dont install codec packs, ur better off installing the codecs u only need to watch ur movies.

ok guys i´ve learned my lesson about nimo ...
but it was the last drives i installed....
it wasnt working b4...but i think i solved the problem
i loaded the movie in virtualdub and it said that there were a problem with the keyframes (rebuilt the index) and a wrong bitrate of audio too (something about to add 41ms to video)
thx all i was took by despair and i´m removing the nimo junk right now...thx a lot!

i guess thats because the audio-stream is VBR mp3!
It is better to load a stream with vbr-mp3 in virtualdubmod!

PS: all you need is gspot!
load your clips in gspot -> this tool tells you which codecs are needed to play a file and if the codecs are already installed!
if the needed codec is not installed, look in the download section of doom9.org and only download the codecs you need (no codec-packs!!!)
