I see in the screen shot that the file path seems incorrect.

What is the full file path?
I just blanked the path cause it has names and such. Should it make a difference?
Moved the whole directory to D:\cE-W(1.00Alpha5) now, it doesn't seem to make a difference for me.

Mysterious!

Does it show 00:09:25.0.000 instead of 00:09:25.240, at your end too? or that's unique to me too?

Was just going to say that it's maybe a windows issue, and you already asked Win10 for this test.
Just tried Win8 as well, seems to act the same.

Here my test before and after the time shift. All time stamps are normal.

OS works so different, it is sometimes really strange.

hmm yeah, that's how I expected it to be. No idea why it's note here.

EDIT: Tried the older version chapterEditor(rev0.50) and it's working fine there. I like the Alpha's interface a lot better though.

I will make a Win10 VM and test it there, but other users have don't report such an issue.
Have you changed some settings in cE, or is all default?

I don't believe I changed anything.

Just to be sure I extracted the prog again and started fresh, and no change. Tried to change all the available settings as well but nothing changed.

Oddly, as I said, the older version works fine.

Thats so strange.
Please could you try the float value -0,789(or -0.789) for the shift time code?

No go. It has to be something to do with how the original timecodes are displayed (with MS as 0 even when it's not).

All times are stored as float value, and only for display the time is transcoded to HH:MM:SS.ms/ns.

I hope there is the issue, so I have rewritten a bit this procedure.

Here is a test version.

On your screenshots, the times are showing with MS, but not on mine. Thought that might have something to do with the issue I'm experiencing.

Thanks for all your help hubblec4.

Sadly, the test build is acting the same way exactly.

On an unrelated subject, no matter which version I try (tried all alphas), when I go to open a chapters file, it "remembers" where I last looked, even if I delete the ini. I guess it has some general reg entry or something. I don't really know much about this stuff

I have nothing coded what store settings in the Windows registry.
This could be a behaviour from Lazarus or Windows, I don't know.

mini-moose have you read the PM?

I believe it's Windows which remembers the location.

I didn't see them as I wasn't logged in, replied now. thanks.

Am I the only one who have this issue? Don't see anyone else reporting it, or maybe time adjustment is not what most people use the program for..

@mini-moose
Your issue occurs only when the time is smaller than 1 second?
If so, could you try the following steps?
1. positiv time shift +1 second
2. negativ time shift -1,789
