Pioneer DVR-A03 ripping speed?

I want to buy the standard Pioneer DVD-R burner available now and am hoping it can pull double duty for reading/ripping DVD's as well as writing them.

Is it a decent ripper? Or will I need to keep my DVD-ROM drive as well for ripping duties?

(The answer will depend on whether I need a new case with more 5.25" bays!!)

it's definitely a bad idea to use your A03 to rip, its life is reduced and we all agree that prices of a dvd burner and dvd rom drive aren't the same
