The Core Media Player 5 - Going open source?

A friend sent me this link some minutes ago:

http://tcmp5.corecodec.org/

Seems Media Player Classic will get some competition in the open source media player field

I found a binary here:
http://blacksun.corecodec.org/tcmp5/release5.rar

That's ... interesting

Unfortunately, the binary link does not work anymore I don't have Delphi here right now so I can't compile the source code.

Anyone got a mirror?

Ludo is being to harsh on that version... it is just an early test we did a while ago to show off the power of our 'CORE', the language modules and the new XML based skins. We have been working on it for about 7 months now on and off... and as Blacksun Toff and DCoder can attest too it's gonna be pretty amazing to see what people can do with it. For example when we sent it out to a few ppl to test... one person made close to 10 Languages in like 2 hours without even trying he said.

Please note: Obvoiusly many things have changed, the licensing being one of them... i'll go into details on that next week here along with the CoreCodec Developers.

Also while we _are_ gonna Open Source TCMP5... it will have some licensing restrictions that will become apparent when I post on it... and no it will not be GPL. For IP considerations and unlike 'other' media players we want to and will be 100% legal. We will not distribute and or compile unlicensed codecs with TCMP's distro.

I'll go more into this next week and possibly provide you all with a new Alpha to test.

7 months? Nice It took us year and a half to complete the RadLight kernel and to get where we are now. As I haven't seen it myself yet ( ), I don't know much about the features of TCMP5 but after 7 months of work it gotta be good

The sourcecode looks interesting. Especially, its playback part

BlackSun:

If tcmp5 will be opensource anyway, can't you do a directshow version (*.ax) of the current dyneq.cll ?

I think I'm not the only one who will carve your name into stone ...

Thanx

Unfortunately I don't have the source code myself, it has been developed for us.

But for TCMP5 we're going to have something from scratch.

You were our last chance ...

Another solution for this? Perhaps a few good words for the author ?

Thanx
