sound levels
I am creating a compilation of clips from several DVDs and am finding the difference in sound levels too great between DVDs.
I extracted and trimmed the clips using DVD Shrink because it allows you to select start and end frames of each clip, and exported each as a separate VOB file. I then added these VOB files to the DVD Lab Pro beta and created Movie items from each VOB file. This works quite well appart from the sound level differences. I suspect I may have to demux each of my source VOB files then find a tool to convert the AC3s to WAVs, then use maybe Sound Forge to alter the sound level of each WAV, then find a tool to convert the WAVs back to AC3s again. Is there a quicker way of normalising the sound levels without degrading the sound quality too much? Any recommendations for techniques and tools gratefully received. |
