Best Deinterlacer for in-sync fields?

I have some footage that is interlaced, but in a temporally linear fashion: meaning that the two fields are completely the same repeated frame, just half of it.

Usually, with most interlaced footage, the fields are captured at two different time intervals, essentially making quasi 60fps footage.

This can be recreated for progressive sources using something like YADIF x2 or QTGMC, aka frame doubling.

However, with this footage, there is no advantage; the frames are identical temporally. Frame doubling just makes two identical frames.

However, frame doubling is essentially not real, it uses temporal and spatial interpolation.

Technically discarding one of the fields here would be the wrong thing to do; id be losing some of the detail and replacing it with fake interpolated data.

What deinterlacer is best to be used in this situation? What will combine both fields into one frame that retains all of the spatial data? Essentially keeping the best resolution possible from the footage.

Thanks.

Your description suggests it's progressive

In that case, you would NOT deinterlace

You would just weave the fields, treating it as progressive, so you get full progressive frame quality

If you see combing before you do anything - it suggests the fields are field shifted. Then you could use TFM , or separate the fields, and trim one off, then weave

If fields are not aligned properly (maybe scanned with wobble somewhere in the workflow, or warping), then there are other problems that might need other fixes . You'd have to provide a sample or better description
