I get what you mean but come on, you really think a 185W TDP card running at 40-50% usage is not gonna be quieter than a 75W TDP card?
No manufacturer is gonna waste money by putting exactly the same cooler on both.

Hello there,
Does anyone know why in FSE mode madVR switches to 60.000 Hz the composition rate? Source is UHD HDR and has a frame rate of 23.976 fps. My LG 55C6V HDR display supports 23.976 Hz refresh rate as well. Thanks for any advice. |

What options do you have set in Display Modes? Which OS?

I know, mine is. The price premium is generally as heavy as the weight of the heatsink, though.

WTF Micrococks, the new update for Windows 10 that added the new "Focus assist" feature pretty much crippled my transition from windowed mode to exclusive mode to the extent that I thought my graphics card was broken (it sometimes also crashed my system after playback ended or I exited a game). So if anybody else is having problems just go to windows settings and disable ALL THE THINGS in Focus assist. Mother fucking morons adding features nobody needed or asked for, this is just one part of a long list of bullshit like "game mode" or "notification center". Wish I could go back to windows 7.

http://www.sapphiretech.com/productd...7F4D7&lang=eng the same cooler to me it will have some difference but mass production can be quite cheap. and i a 90 % loaded GPU can produce less noise than a 40 % GPU only the cooler matters https://www.guru3d.com/articles-page...review,10.html a proper passive cooled cards can't be beat by a good cooling solution. TDP is not that important. it's far cheaper to buy a better cooled card than a bigger card that is only used for half of it'S power. what display modes are you using? |

I wonder if madshi finds a way to utilize upcoming NVidia RTX ray tracing cores to benefit video playback. Perhaps AI capabilities of NVidia GPU's can perform more accurate and faster frame interpolation?
BTW, what is the general advice and\or concensus on settings for 1440p displays. I just got this sweet 32" LG VA G-Sync 144Hz panel and it's only 8 inches smaller than my 40" 1080p VA TV with same contrast ratio, but maxing out at 60Hz. I thought about just switching to use that monitor as, but non-standard 1440p along with G-Sync make it complicated to select settings for the best visuals Last edited by XMonarchY; 8th September 2018 at 21:39. |

faster: probably not see Transforming Standard Video Into Slow Motion with AI https://news.developer.nvidia.com/tr.../?ncid=--43539 + https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjViy6kyiqs -> I doubt it'll be really useful for madVR, but it might be interesting if there were Vapoursynth or Avisynth filter which could be using this,... |

Its curious that people try to come up with new use-cases while we already had a Neural Network algorithm in madVR before, for image doubling: NNEDI3. Image scaling should be a breeze for the Tensor Cores, considering they are even using that as a gaming feature called DLSS - Deep Learning Super Sampling. Now their algorithm is not going to be quite as high quality as a madVR scaler might be, but it also needs to run on top of 3D rendering and whatnot, so it has to be ultra fast.
A new Neural Network based scaler with more complexity/quality then NNEDI3, but compensating for the low performance of the added complexity by using Tensor Cores sounds like a rather logical step.

there is no question that you can create something very useful for madVR with it but why should you do that for 3 GPUs and only nvidia?
the speed of DLSR is ridiculously fast it can super sample 4k but nvidia doesn't like to provide proper informations so we have this... https://images.anandtech.com/doci/13...ay_Aug22_2.png |

On my 1440 desktop display I just use Jinc to upscale from 1080, I find no need for NGU for such a small upscaling. I double 576 and 720 video using NGU.

NGU is pretty good if we are using FP32.

The custom resolution feature seems to work again with the newest nvidia driver, but only for 23 to 30 fps recordings and a 8 bit color. That's not a big deal for 10-bit hdr movies. |

It is in fullscreen windowed mode. In FSE mode 8 bit turns to 10 bit and composition rate to 60.000 Hz. In FSE mode I cannot make a Prt Scr. |
