"Clipped" audio after DVD Shrink

Hi

Two DVDs (Deep Impact, Contact) I've shrunk to fit on 4.7 GB DVDs have had what I call clipped audio - the audio played more or less normally, but every so often (perhaps as soon as every few minutes) maybe 0.2 sec of audio will be "missing" - very obvious if you are at all listening carefully and unpleasant to listen to.

OTOH this prob did not occur with another DVD, Paycheck.

Have searched this forum for "audio" in titles and in the 57 hits there has been no mention of anything like this.

I hope someone can offer a solution.

I should mention that DVD "rips" with XviD or DivX and AC3 in an AVI container play without this clipping problem, so presumably it is not a problem with the AC3 filter.

Thanks for any help

Hi!

Since DVD Shrink does absolutely nothing to alter/modify audiostreams, I don't believe it can be the cause of the audio anomaly you've described...
