The project is called LAV Filters, LAV Splitter is only one part of it.

Ahh right Lav Filters yeah fits better geez seems im also a little buzzword infected already
Though since the fork of FFMPEG and LIBAV people could make mistakes into believing its LIBAV LIBAV based instead of FFMPEG LIBAV i find this also confusing sometimes :P before it was pretty clear LAV = FFMPEG but since the fork it could be also LIBAV, though as both share also i guess it makes less sense to see LAV as FFMPEG and more as a big one LAV

Yes$S, the quote above is almost as crystal-clear as the quote below

CruNchers use of English certainly CruNches my brain!

At least he doesn't wear out his punctuation keys though like many people

I love the name LAV Filters, no nonsense - clear and informative. If it was some sort of commercial product no doubt it would be Super Power Ultimate LAV Filters Gold (TM) Extreme Edition Super Overclocked.

Use the LAV installer, that'll give it to you for .ts .avi and .wmv. (Make sure to enable WMV/ASF in the installer, its default off)

What is a .tp file?

In any case you can directly hook up extensions by just adding a new entry in the registry in HKCL\Media Type\Extensions (or HKCL\Wow6432Node\Media Type\Extensions for 32-bit on a 64-bit OS)
Just copy an existing entry like .ts

No, the ATI 5xxx series cards do not support full MPEG-2 DXVA acceleration, and LAV only supports full acceleration. The Microsoft decoder also supports partial acceleration, which works on the older cards.

It'll not be supported.

It's practically renamed .ts files certain Satellite Recording Applications use them im not sure if it even was only 1 Manufacture from Asia from who it also actually originated from somewhere though i never understood why they use the .tp instead of .ts it doesn't seem to be a difference like .pva (Hauppauge) and .mpg where
Though i could be wrong and some metadata is written inside their or it uses some different packeting optimized for specific hardware (like Sony has it's metadata part for .mts camcorder (time of recording, shutter speed information other Hardware settings) and nowdays .m2ts

Thanks. I used installer. Download again from http://files.1f0.de/lavf/LAVFilters-0.50.1.exe and reinstall it and tick asf in the installer

Now avi and ts are ok, but .wmv..
Like you said, adding a new entry can make the LAV Source work in MPC-HC.
Not a big deal though I dont know where the problem is.

Yup i guess DVICO invented this renaming sheme (maybe they just wanted to avoid licensing by making everyone back then believe it's a unique format, that you had to convert into .ts first) , though their Capture Cards and Sat Cards used it first they produced Media Players later I remember this exactly it was the time when MPEG-2 HD gained popularity in the States

Make sure to really set it in the installer, and not just in the splitter configuration, where your screenshot is from.

Now avi and ts are ok, but .wmv..
Like you said, adding a new entry can make the LAV Source work in MPC-HC.
Not a big deal though I dont know where the problem is.

This's a tp file.
tp file is from Korea only.
Hi guys,

I thought I knew the answer to the following question but it seems to have escaped my grey matter. Guess that's what happens when you blindly use an installer .

Could someone remind me of the difference between lav splitter and lav splitter source and the reason for using one instead of the other? A link to the posts covering this would be more than enough as I can't remember how long ago this was discussed and searching doesn't narrow down the posts very much when using key words of splitter and source

Thanks in advance and sorry for the basic question (again?).

Cheers,

Wo0zy
