Stream splitting with Flash (RTMP)

Hello to all

I work with live streaming video, often Windows Media because it's a safe choice for enterprise. There are quite a few appliances that will do Windows Media stream splitting, and WMS itself does a pretty good-out-of-the-box job too. Without splitting, live on corporate LANs is almost impossible because the however-many-hundreds unicast streams just topple the WAN link.

But we're starting to do some live alpha stuff with Flash, and clients are loving it. Trouble is I can't employ stream-splitting with Flash (or at least I don't know how). Even if I could write an application for FMS to do the same, unlike WMS, FMS costs a fortune (even if I used Wowza it's still big money compared to a free component in windows).

Does anyone have any suggestions how I could do this splitting of live RTMP streams? It seems a damn shame that just this is the reason I can't move away from WM9 to Flash for live video.

Your thoughts appreciated

thanks
