XviD encoded video freezing

I have playback problems with videos encoded with koepi's 02022003 build. When the video is played it looks great but after a small while (it varies a little) the video freezes but timer and sound (if muxed in) keeps playing forward normally. I've tried ffdshow, Xvid thru ffdshow, koepi's decoder and nic's decoder.

The funny thing with both Koepi's and nic's decoders was that the video looked like total mess but thru ffdshow with or without XviD it looked just fine.

What might cause this?
