Hi there,

I sure do something wrong with Photoshop and Scenarist Designer because I installed both of them, but Photoshop File/Export menu is gray so I can't do anything with it. When I open a png file what I'd like to edit, I can see the File/Export/Scenarist Designer PS option but it's still gray and I can't do anything with it. In this case the png file is a "colour palette" not layers, so it's unable to edit. What should I have to do?

I always thougth the BDMV\BACKUP folder had an exact copy of the BDMV one. So the following line confused me:

Why are they different?

When you rip your disc to HDD, anydvd hd or dvdfab modifies some java signatures and some other things, like removing UOP, region codes etc.

I thought the BACKUP folder was a way to have a copy of important files, in case of a disc scratch (like .BUP files on DVD). So now I guess it's not. Because if you have a scratch in your backup and the player can't read a file, it would search for a backup of files that don't correspond to the backup but to the original disc.

In this cases you'll have to check the *.class files with a hex editor. In your archive, the subtitles streams are declared in h.class.

The problem: On some discs the class files are hash-signed, so if you change even 1 bit in them (hex editor to change language text, for instance) - the menu will stop working because the hash signature won't match. The signatures for each class file are stored inside the jar (META-INF\SIG-BD00.RSA).

The solution: Make all the changes you want, then pack the entire thing to an ISO. Mount that ISO with your favorite virtual drive software, then run AnyDVD on that virtual drive. After the drive is ready for use (anydvd finished scanning it) - copy the content from the virtual drive to a new iso or directory.
This works because anydvd recalculates all the hashes of class files in all the jars when readying a disc for use.

Enjoy

This solution was posted in the guide right from the start. It's the only working one.

Editing Blu-ray menu button commands!!

Hello crl2007,

Thanks for the great guide, it's been so useful for me, I'm working on my Resident Evil 3D and trying to convert it from BD50 to BD25, but I want to edit the menu button commands (IGS menu) so when I press play movie, it will read the file I assign, not the default SSIF file which can't be put onto my 25 BD disc!!

Could you please help me in this? It will be great appreciated...

The menu links point to certain mpls files. You can edit those mpls with bdedit and just remove the SSIF links from them. Or you can just delete the SSIF files and only choose to play the 2D movie in the menu. But you should try BD Rebuilder. I don't know if it has a 3D backup option, but it's the best software for BD50 to 25 conversion.

Thanks a lot crl2007,

BD Rebuilder has no 3D support, I'm gonna try editing the mpls files and see what happens then get back to you,

Cheers

It's too hard to explain if you don't have knowledge of the BD structure.
