WindowsXP vobsub2.08 and old graph-files won't work

When i try to play old graph-files (made with vobsub 1.2+) under WindowsXP i only get an error message and i can't even edit the file in graphedit, under 2000 i also get an error message but it still works. When i recreate the graph-file with the new vobsub it will play in windows media player, but the subtitles won't display, when i use another player it works. Is there a way to get the old graphs to work under XP?
