That is the video I'm trying to make a D2v for with DGIndex and i get this error

The file seems to have problem playing towards the end. It hangs up MPC-HC but plays fine elsewhere. Plus I don't get a seekbar in WMP but plays fine, and KMPlayer is just choppy from the start.

What camera is that footage from? It should work fine with HDV
Are you using the most recent version of DGIndex?
Maybe you can upload a sample to a free hosting site for neuron2 to look at

Looks like it could be a problem with the detection of the transport packet size.

Please use DGSplit to cut 50MBytes from the front of the MTS file and upload it to mediafire.com. Then post the link here.

I started DGIndex 1.5.5 and then File/Open to open your uploaded video. It opened and displayed without problems. How are you making the problem happen? Your file is not on a network drive is it? If the parser can't see good data within 3 seconds, you can get that error.

no its not on a network.

if you see in the screen i posted, the file opens and it makes a d2v for about 4 minutes. the error pops up when the last 16 seconds are left.

That doesn't happen with the file you uploaded! Use DGSplit to give me the last 50MBytes.

Anyway, since you have an issue in other players, I suppose your file is corrupted. Try cutting off the end so that the D2V creation can succeed.

Check my edit. I need the part that contains the point where it fails.

(I ask for streams so that I can duplicate the issue. If you give me a stream for which the issue cannot be duplicated, then it's useless.)

the file size is 10.9 GB and it doesn't play about 6 minutes from the end.

So I'm thinking of cutting 50MB segment from 10.5 GB.

So I put the values in bytes as start: 11274289152 to end:11326717952

it gave me a 50MB chunk. But there is no mediainfo on the file. Am i doing it right ?

Don't worry about mediainfo!

Just make sure that the problem happens with the stream you upload. Load it into DGIndex and try to save D2V. If it fails the same way then upload it.

I loaded it into DGIndex, it says no data when i try to save project, and its a black screen in dgindex

That's 50MBytes of zeroes. If that is at the end of your file, then it is corrupted, and you need to cut that off so that the D2V creation process can finish without timing out.

Cutting before the corrupted, would that be a trial and error ? or is there some software that can tell me the time of playback corresponding to the the size of the file

In DGIndex, just use the ] button to set the end of the project range. Keeping moving it back until the Save Project operation completes. You'll be able to see where the trackbar is when it fails. Just end your project a little bit earlier.
