Anyway, my workaround has been to import this encoded version and rebuild the quick menu. As you wrote, the MPLS then became sequentially renumbered and all was ok. Added: Now I deleted the titles.inf and started allover again, not touching the menus. Here the generated titles.inf (untouched). Same mystery. Code:
[Titles] Title=BD_BREAKING_BAD_S5_D2 00119=01. Feature Presentation: [00:48:03.922] 00120=02. Feature Presentation: [00:47:25.884] 00121=03. Feature Presentation: [00:47:17.876] 00122=04. There's really no translation involved. The MPLS filenames are pulled into structure -- and remain a string throughout. I'll do a couple of tests and see if I can find anything. Last edited by jdobbs; 12th November 2013 at 21:34. |

MOV files only, no MKVs and no Episodic disks. - Quick-Play Menu from Full Backup
Using Full Backup and Importing 5 MOV files.
Quick-Play shows editor. I leave the displayed file names alone. Click save. Files are imported and AAC's are conveted to AC3. Import is finished and 3 files are showing listed in BD-RB's Stream Tab. First 2 are of the correct file size, but the 3rd is really short. The short is the menu background. The other 3 of 5 are not in the list. Run PowerDVD 12, select the directory under Import, and PowerDVD displays 5 items in the menu. Also shows correct Menu name. Play the first file (title) and looks and sounds ok. Menu returns with next (2nd) highlighted. Repeat through to the 5th, and each are the correct file even though it doesn't match in BD-RB. Burning to BD-RE 50 and playing with Standalone LG player the menu looks as it does in PowerDVD 12. The video for each looks good, but the sound has a strange gapping sound. I'll include an attached video.. There's a choppy hissing sound. I burned the m2ts files to the BD-RE overwriting the previous disk project, as well as copied them to a Verbatim USB. A/V are okay on both. So, for fun, I moved the files completely away from the BD-RB Import and thought to try adding them as the m2ts files they now are. I had BD-RB exit. I deleted the Import and WORKFILES directories. Ran BD-RB, had it import the files, leaving the Quick-Play Edit menu alone. Files Imported, and I see 2 VIDs displayed and the menu in the list. However, BD-RB has "Not Responding" so..I'll have it exit and delete the Imports directories again and repeat. This time all imported well. Output being used is BD-25. Import/Quick-Play Parameters are stock. I decided not to post the video clip unless requested by you. Strict AVCHD is checked but since BD-25 is selected probably not part of it. I'll try unselecting it in next tests. New burn has same audio "gaping"..video is fine. I'll now test the thresholds some. Edit 1: If I switch BD-RB to Movie & Menus, with Edit mode ON.. All VIDs are there including Menu with a 5 files except Menu set to be blanked. Switch off Edit Mode and only, of course, the Menu VID is displayed.

TMT 6 doesn't like BD_RB menus. PowerDVD 13 is good. According to jdobbs 11 is also good. Sony 550 standalone is good with the menus also. |

Just teasing, and bumping your generous $100 donation to remind others to contribute. And your locale caught my eye as I have very fond memories from my several trips to Toronto. I love Canada and [most of] its people.

As I said, I'm really confident that the menus follow the BD standard. Nothing is impossible -- but I was very careful in the way they are structured. So if the text, editor, or the content has issues I'm not that surprised -- because there is a lot of new code there, but if something can't play it I strongly suspect the player.

iPad 2 MOV file Quck-Play Menu using Full Backup Update.
An update. I'm using BD-RB to convert some BD-RB made Alternative MKVs and converting the AC-3's to AAC's while keeping video intact. I'll report soon if those are have the same "choppy" sound soon with my LG player.
After reading the updated thread, this "bug?" may have been corrected for the next release. With respect to Canada, it's pretty Awesome. They have an awesome band that's not in a hurry, though their name suggests differently, that makes brilliant music and lyrics.

When using the new import/basic menu & authoring function to import various MakeMKV-created files from various DVDs (or, just the AnyDVD rip of the whole disc) and upsizing to 720p (to get around the 480p24p and AR limitations the Blu-ray specs have), it always uses Spline16Resize in the avs script, ignoring the setting in the .ini. Seems to happen regardless of IVTC, DGDecNV, etc.

MOV with Quick-Play
They're not really a rock or progressive rock band, but pretty decent? No worries. I'm having fun with you. I don't care at all what RNR Hall Of Fame says.
Anyway, to BD-RB... Ahhh!! I nailed it! Importing something from an iPad (2) or iPhone (5) from any Mode other than Movie-Only Backup with the new Quick-Play results in an interesting audio "jerking". To get around it, I have to FIRST Select Movie-Only Backup and Alternately output with Intact Video and have audio converted to AC-3 in MKV. Edit: It's the Importing causing it..not Quick-Play. Workaround: Which bypasses the AAC to AC-3 from the Quick-Play Import. Once they're converted and in MKV container that way, select whatever mode other than Movie-Only Backup and it seems Quick-Play is handling the Imported files without the "jerky" sound AND the Playlist Playing and accepting Editing well. Standalone player..I haven't used PDID 12 for these tests. I went back to 44.06 as well as the newest version (45.03) to check on the Importing feature. Hmm...I didn't test Import well enough before. I hope this helps, JD.

Used four dvds to make a new blu ray compilation through the Quick Play import in version 45.03. The menu will not play in PowerDVD 12, WinDVD 11, TMT 5 or TMT 6.
The individual m2ts files play ok in most players, including VLC, but the Arcsoft players don't do well with them even on an individual basis. Playback is jerky with them. |
