Hi.

Can you remove teh link to reno.dess as it is an old server not used anymore.

There is a redirection on the homepage but not on the others. We should update that.

http://doom9.free.fr/ is the new one, but perhaps it's better to use only french.doom9.org as it will always follow the good server.

Thanks, and great idea that this thread.

oops, you got me there. I used to copy the blueprint of this list and just put in new links.
fixed.

by the way: Did you all notice that the mirror links are now _parent instead of _blank? (That's the links when you click on the flags in the top frame).

yet another thing: in my humble opinion, translating the software page of doom9.org makes NO sense at all (except for those who host their own software archive - does sb actually do that?). The Hungarians did that and do not even have their contact page and the doc-overview ready - that's not very intelligent - during my quick search I haven't found a contact address (OK, they have a forum, but anyway)..

perhaps these things should be made clear in this forum - this platform between the webmasters of the projects isn't used enough. It saves you much work if you listen to the experiences of "older" projects' webmasters.

sorry about that - there were some misunderstandings, I've seen.

I asked for permission for the banner... and when will it go to the top frame? well, I don't make the banner - I've told them to make a new one with the size in pixel, but I'm still waiting for the top-banner to arrive; then I'll remove the left.htm banner of course.

as for the flag: the company that pays for the banner makes this banner for me... so thanks for your offer, but it's their job.

don't worry about that. This stuff is not very time-critical and is not noticed by many people either. I'm in pretty close contact to doom9 concerning this kind of things - he'll announce these changes in the future (he already told us that he'll announce things in his the mails he sent to all mirrors).

Hi fibola,

I'm in charge of this forum section (translation forum), so I'll answer your question.

As far as I know, there's currently no Hebrew translation project in the works. So if you want to help translating Doom9 into Hebrew, you must think about starting your own project as a webmaster/coordinator. The job of the project startet is pretty time-consuming, so think about it thoroughly.

If you want more information about the tasks involved in such a project, please refer to the translation guidelines:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28366

I hope you are still encouraged to help!

Regards,
--Scipio

@billou2k: that's not good news. Turns out I hadn't checked all the mirrors are frequently as I should so I did not miss the extensive inactivity period. I've just fired off an email to the contact address I have on file.. I hope I'll get an answer and we can get things rolling again for the French mirror.

Hi!
I'm from Hungary.
I made non-official hungarian translation of some PC games.
As I see, the hungarian section hasn't any host for a time.
I'd like to participate in this work (english to hungarian).
