.NET Framework Problem, I think?
Hello to all,
Thought I could get this figured out on my own, but I was wrong. Some Background: Been using StaxRip 1.0.0.3 with no problems. Then saw a new beta version was available with some nice features and decided to try it out. I always uninstall previous versions whenever I do this type of thing. Installed the latest beta of Staxrip, made sure I had the necessary NET framework installed, up to v3.5. Started using the new Staxrip and got a few minor error messages. No problem. I uninstalled it and reinstalled the previous stable 1.0.0.3 version. Went to run the program and got these error messages: Code:
Something Unexpected has happened Object reference not set to an instance of an object 1. "Make a bug report" Which seems to just exit 2. "Cancel" Which then proceeds to open StaxRip. So I push cancel, StaxRip opens, and a new error message: Code:
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at StaxRip.MainForm.UpdateRecentProjectsMenuItems(String path) at StaxRip.MainForm.MainForm_Shown(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnShown(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.CallShownEvent() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbackDo(ThreadMethodEntry tme) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbackHelper(Object obj) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.runTryCode(Object userData) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.RuntimeHelpers.ExecuteCodeWithGuaranteedCleanup(TryCode code, CleanupCode backoutCode, Object userData) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallback(ThreadMethodEntry tme) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbacks() ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.1433 (REDBITS.050727-1400) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- StaxRip Assembly Version: 1.0.0.3 Win32 Version: 1.0.0.3 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/StaxRip_1.0.0.3/StaxRip.exe ---------------------------------------- Microsoft.VisualBasic Assembly Version: 8.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 8.0.50727.1433 (REDBITS.050727-1400) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Microsoft.VisualBasic/8.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.1433 (REDBITS.050727-1400) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.1433 (REDBITS.050727-1400) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.1433 (REDBITS.050727-1400) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Runtime.Remoting Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.1433 (REDBITS.050727-1400) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Runtime.Remoting/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Runtime.Remoting.dll ---------------------------------------- Stax Assembly Version: 1.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 1.0.0.0 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/StaxRip_1.0.0.3/Stax.DLL ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. The application must also be compiled with debugging enabled. I run XP SP2. I'm not a programmer, but am somewhat computer savvy. If anyone could point me in the right direction i"d greatly appreciate it. |
