hi,
Is there any timing information available with DV compressed frame data like MPEG-2 GOP header ? Is it possible any VITC/ATC time information embedded in a frame along with Luma samples ? Thanks Dave |

AFAIK, on the PC, DV streams are almost always stored in an AVI container.
And AVI is CFR (constant frame rate), which means AVI uses a fixed frame-rate, specified in the AVI Stream Header. Therefore you don't need timing info, such as timestamps. The time index of the n-th frame simple is n * fps.

This filter reveals the metadata in a DV stream, New Filter: DVInfo
This seems to be a version for the newer HDV format, HDVInfo v0.93 |
