here the changelog to 0.95

0.95 05/02/2007 Full Package
ADDED: Movie name is now based on folder name (in case of ifo input) (suggestion by AMED)
ADDED: Possibility to specify only the crop values and not the width and height (suggestion by Honeyko)
ADDED: "Don't Mux But Save Temp Folder" checking this option will force AutoMKV to rename temp folder (based on movie name) and to not mux
ADDED: In case of MP4 container and AC3 Audio now AutoMKV will not quit. It will prompt a message about not able to mux and will move the temp folder
ADDED: Now FFmpeg Encoding take account of Manual Crop&Resize and Manual Crop and Specify Bitrate. In this way AutoMKV can be instructed to do near all FFmpeg Encoding
ADDED: Colored crop value. Green = OK, Red = Wrong
ADDED: Colored Manual Width and Height Value, Green = OK, Blu = not so well , Red = Wrong
ADDED: Option to add "--engage keep_bitstream_ar_info" to muxing command line
ADDED: Tips! If you don't want tips just delete the file tips.txt
ADDED: Support for M2TS container using excellent tsMuxeR. I suggest to use PS3_XboX360 profile (have nal-hrd/aud enabled)
FIXED: When reopening CQ TUNE the previus values where rounded up (thanks to Honeyko)
FIXED: On d2v input, when checking Manual Crop and Resize will show correct value on Width and Height
FIXED: When encoding is running is no more possible to add job in queue
FIXED: Now Value of Crop and Width/height are greyed till user click on "Use Manual Crop/Resize" or "Manual Crop" (suggestion by Honeyko)
FIXED: Now when pressing Start Queue, the button "Start Queue" will be disabled (suggestion by Honeyko)
FIXED: In case of triggered ffmpeg encoding (avi/xvid) now AutoMKV wil correctly mux the final file (thanks to Honeyko)
FIXED: Now AutoMKV wil rename automatically "movie name" contain illegal character like|!<>"?\/.
FIXED: Even on Avi muxing AutoMKV will check for already existing file destination. In this case will create a muxed file starting with numbers_movie name.avi (thanks to Honeyko)
FIXED: On Avi muxing the original audio is no more muxed (thanks to ryc0203)
FIXED: Manual Crop and Resize will disable Width on load settings (thanks to Honeyko)
FIXED: Force Mux Height and Width are remebered on qeque
FIXED: Quality Encoding will now trigger on ffmpeg encoding a quality encoding too
FIXED: Removed some pop up windows
FIXED: Usage of ITU and Anamorphic encoding (a BIG thanks to Valnar AND SeeMoreDigital)
FIXED: Anamorphic on muxing (thanks to Zacoz)
FIXED: Some issues using FFmpegSource
FIXED: Some issues using PreProcess to LossLess
FIXED: Reduced the number of "triggering" list. Now clicking on audio, video profile, container, codec AND not changing the value will not trigger AutoMKV routines
FIXED: DSS x A/V will force AutoMKV to use DirectShowSource for encoding both audio and video
FIXED: DSS x Audio will force AutoMKV to use DirectShowSource for encoding only audio (before will trigger even video)
FIXED: Whenever "Manual Resize / Crop" is checked, AutoMKV will determine if there is already a setting for Resize Filter other than NONE. If it is NONE, then it will be changed to SimpleResize(neutral soft). (suggestion by Honeyko)
FIXED: When checking "Specify Quality" the encoding status window will now display the selected CQ/CRF value (thanks to Honeyko)
FIXED: When checking Manual Crop&Resize the value of width specifyed in profile are ignored
FIXED: Deinterlacer Analysis is now minimized
FIXED: Some Layout in GUI, most cosmetic
FIXED: Some layout on log
UPDATE: FFmpegSource 1.14, ColorMatrix 2.3, TIVTC 1.0.5, FFmpeg r11562,Mp4Box 11/01/2008, X264 rev 736 (AQ 0.48, 2pass vbv, aud/nal-hrd) PS3_41.xml profile renamed to PS3_XBOX360.xml and lowred the qpmin to 5, Xbox.xml profile, oggenc2.84-aoTuVb5-generic.zip
UPDATE: Italian translation
DELETE: Some duplicate x264 profile (heritage of compatibility with Megui)
CHANGED: When selecting "Don't care about size" AutoMKV will not do anything, just on status bar "Don't use Automatic Width. It's a waste of time with Unlimited File Size."
CHANGED: On Zune profile all audio is now WMAPRO.
CHANGED: How AutoMKV will compute Height. Now the calculus are very precise and corrected to AR (i hope...)
CHANGED: AutoMKV can now handle delay audio in several ways. The default is to use DelayAudio in Soundout (as MeGeui) (AutoMKV will silently switch to Fix in Mux if audio is "copy original") (a precius suggestion by valnar). Or can Use DelayCut or can fix the delay in mux (as AutoGK)
CHANGED: In case of broken audio encoding AutoMKV will not try to use SoundOut but will pipe from ffmpeg to audio encoder. Due to inability of many encoders and bugs of FFmpeg.exe, AutoMKV will trigger a directly encoding made by FFmpeg

thanks to all testers!

Does this mean support for Blu-Ray?

When I try to import an m2ts file (the main movie,) it doesn't see any audio, nor subtitles. Then it just errors when I say "rip."

Yeah! New Thread!

(Flops on the rug in front of the fireplace like a big hound-dog.)

==//==

Suggestion: Lose the included DVDdecrypter. That app is old and discontinued; and anybody who's made there way here likely already has it and several competitors anyway. Just a link to an existing mirror will save your site DL bandwidth.

@buzzqw
this is a follow-up / correction on my previous post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...64#post1096164)

(1) audio encoding fix / workaround with ffmpeg piping:
I am now almost sure that there is actually no bug, just sometimes a long wait before the regular encoding starts generating the encoded audio file. This would explain:
- why I don't have any problem when running the script manually (but definitely a delay before the encoded audio file starts to grow: I timed 45sec for a 1 hour movie)
- and why once in a while the encoding works ok.
Maybe Windows 2003 behaves differently in that respect than other OS flavors?

(2) wrong encoded audio length:
That bug is with me! At least partly: it works fine for OOG now that I installed ffdshow (with both v0.95beta21 and v0.95a) ... Okay, you did give a big fat warning and I should . Sorry about that.
For MP3/Lame encoding I still get almost double the length, so I'm not clear what is going on. Any suggestion?

@ALL
Anybody else out there using Windows 2003? If so, what version exactly and do you experience the same audio encoding delays / failure (prior to v0.95) ?
I'm trying to figure out if I have a problem with my install or if this is a a general 'feature'....

Suggestion for rewording on the first post to make it a bit clearer what the dependencies are:

Quote:

for warpsharp plugin read this: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=124585 mirror here

If you have any problem with playback (or render issue) download and install Combined Community Codec Pack
Just move any of the compulsory ones down to Optional if I've gotten it wrong - they seemed to me to be the ones people would be hard pressed to do without.

Thanks buzzqw Nice with the tips

Unfortunately I seem to have found a bug when using ChangeFPS.

I'm using a 50 fps HDTV source (720 x 576 PAL) demuxed into m2v & ac3. With 0.93a I select "ChangeFPS" and "25,1" on the Advanced Profiles Editing tab, and all it good - 25fps output.

With 0.95 I get an autoMKV with video running at 50fps and audio playing at equivalent of 25fps.

Checking the logs and it seems to be related to the muxing command generated:

Code:
AutoMKV 0.93a
20:34:54 "E:\AutoMKV\exe\matroska\mkvmerge.exe" -o "D:\Capture\temp\test93a.mkv" --track-name -1:"test93a" --aspect-ratio 1:1.805437 "D:\Capture\temp\movie.mp4" --language -1:und --default-track -1:yes "D:\Capture\temp\audio.mp4" --title "Done with AutoMKV 0.93a http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=854221 "
Code:
AutoMKV 0.95
21:51:06 "E:\AutoMKV\exe\matroska\mkvmerge.exe" -o "D:\Capture\temp\test95.mkv" --default-duration 0:50000/1000fps --engage keep_bitstream_ar_info --track-name -1:"test95" --aspect-ratio -1:1.792801 "D:\Capture\temp\movie.264" --language -1:und --default-track -1:yes "D:\Capture\temp\SBS HD 2008-02-04_193050.mp4" --title "Done with AutoMKV 0.95 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=854221 "
When i changed --default-duration 0:50000/1000fps to --default-duration 0:25000/1000fps the audio and video were back in sync at 25fps.

Following on from 0.93a thread...

I know users might want to do other things (in my case i dont). The problem is because even when automkv is doing nothing (i.e. x264.exe is encoding) its using 50% cpu time and the remaining cpu time goes to 264. Manual intervention fixes this put running encoder at slightly higher priority then automkv but still lower than "normal" priority.

Given that automkv does no (cpu based) hard work and the brute encoding happens in external apps, then running automkv in lowest priority and every launched app in slightly higher priority (but still less than "NORMAL") should make no difference to people who want to still use their PC but will fix this bug.

Does that make sense?

edit:

posting here as 0.93a thread is not for new posts allowed.

Also not tried new version but i believe its the same so still posting here.

Strange, I don't think I've ever seen this with any version of AutoMKV I've used. While x264 is running AutoMKV sits at 0-1% CPU. It might increase slightly during transition stages (i.e. audio encoding finishes then starts video encoding) but then drops back down. If I'm not using anything else then x264 will run at 98-99% and this is on a dual core system (same as on my old single core).

I think the post above hits the nail on the head. What I can say is when its happening the updates to the stats windows appear to be "flickering" almost like there is not enough CPU cycles available to update the window. I'm going to try the above and see if it helps. Unsure why no one else seems to have the problem.

I have a couple times, always associated with some component crashing, and that component's CPU load then "magically" transfering to AutoMKV in the Task Manager.

disable in advanced profile editing the "Show Enc. Stat"

and about priority.. i prefer all at idle, but as usually i am open to motivated suggestion

Suggestion: It's high time for a big, fat list of what every profile, resize filter and custom matrix does. (Half of them weirdly-named things I can't find with a Google search, and of those I do, too many point to 3yo threads.)

do you propose yourself ?

yep.. i know.. but it's a very big job...

(or i code bugs.. or do documentation... or get a life...)

EDIT:@ryc0203

try checking in advanced settings "DSS for A/V"

@buzzqw
i got an error in directshowsource
may be for
movie = directshowsource("C:\t\p-sw04.rmvb",fps=25,000000,convertfps=true,audio=false)

fps should be "fps=25.000000" and not "fps=25,000000"
it is afected for windows regional configuration?
in spanish decimal point is "," not "."

maybe it's the windows regional configuration

could you try setting "." as decimal separator ?

5.1 in WMV

I'm sorry to ask you to switch gears, but I'm a total noob on AutoMKV. I have an Mpeg2 file (extracted from a dvr-ms file) with surround sound in it. I'm trying to get it into WMV with 5.1 audio to play in Xbox360 MCE. I've looked in the Wiki and can't find anything on it.

Also, encoded to WMV gives me insanely slow encoding speeds (x0.05), so a 12 minute file took 4 hours. I have a dual core athlon 64 4200+, old but not nearly that bad. I'm I doing something (obvious) wrong?

EDIT: Its a 1280x720 clip, btw, and I'd like to maintain the quality.
