Have this AVC file... what is it?

I've got this avc file. I think/thought it is a raw AVC file. I would like to get it into something like .mp4 or .mkv and decode with ffdshow/coreavc but I am having no luck. I've tried avc2avi, mp4box, mkvmerge etc etc but am getting no where. The Elecard player with their filters can play it but nothing else. So what do I have? Can anybody identify what this thing is?

Sample chunk: sample

If it's a RAW stream, would it be possible to use MP4Box to mux it into the .MP4 container?

Cheers

not unchanged, as it doesnt start with a keyframe/sps/pps
it looks like the typical hdtv captures or like a file simply cut with a hexeditor or so

you would need to cut away the frames in front of the first sps with a hexeditor before you can use the stream

It's from a provider starting to use mpeg4. I used a hex editor to cut off about 65MB from the end so the sample is from the start of the file. So interlaced is the culprit.

Satellite. There's a third party company that adds a usb output to a subscribed receiver and produces a transport stream output. They had this sample capture on their website. Sounds like a nice idea to be able cap already encoded to mpeg4. Was hoping to be able to put it in a different container than a transport stream.

Only thing I could get it to play in is Elecard's player with the AVC plugin. Couldn't get it to play in graphedit or mpc.

elecard is also directshow based afaik, so their filters should work in other players too

So... is there any way to convert from interlaced to progressive without a full re-encode?
