Problems with ogg

I encoded a movie and i added to it 3 audio ogg streams. First i got an error in oggDropXp, the program terminated with an error all three times at 100%. But the audio streams are playing ok and the length is correct. Then i multiplexed the streams in graphEdit with ogg multiplexer. GraphEdit didn't terminate on its own. So i waited until i didn't see any change in the file and i stopped it.
The default audio stream plays well, but the two other streams produce a horrible electric sound. All that under winXP PRO.

Any suggestions ?

I dont have any suggestion but i have exactly the sam problem with the Oggdrop error after 100% and the "horrible electric sound" with more than one Oggstreams.
BTW.I have report the error with Oggdrop.

not a solution but a workaround: use the new headac3he.. I'll prolly put that in the guide when I've had some time to test it.

The real problem is that multiplexing multiple streams doesn't work. headac3he.. won't fix the problem.

For multiplexing one audio stream it works fine.
I don't know why oggDropXp doesn't terminate correctly but the audio files seem to be working.
I'll give it a try with headac3he because it does direct ac3->ogg conversion. Does it use Azid for decoding ac3?

I have had no problem with multiplexing more than one stream into OGG. I've created a 12-stream audio file without problems. I stopped at 12, because WMP wouldn't playback anymore when I added more streams.

But maybe video + multiple audio is different?

@philipas: ever been to the headac3he homepage? you wouldn't have to ask if it uses azid if you had

it could well be that the crashing causes your problem.. you never know. also.. what os do you have? could be that winCrap (aka win != w2k/xp) causes some problems with the filter. my bait dual audio rip worked perfectly though, no speedups, no seeking problems, no freezes, no problems switching the audio channels

I had the same problem of GraphEdit not stopping when I tried multiplexing video an audio streams of different length. Maybe oggdrop misses just a few ms and GraphEdit mess things up.

if ge never officially finishes (meaning that the play button is again accessible) then you have a problem. I used to have this when I tried out the avi encoding filters in w2k a long while back and I was never able to fix that problem. Sometimes I also had the problem when doing audio conversions from ac3 to mp3 but then I started to use the i-media multiple mpeg2 source and that fixed the problem. But the latest graphedit build from my pages doesn't have these problems anymore (at least not for me).. so if you use an older build maybe using the latest one will fix your problems..

I have tried both HeadAC3 and Oggdrop still no luck with two audiostreams but the first audio stream work good.
WIN XP pro

Why use OggDropXP RC1?

More user reported problems with this tool and is based on RC1 Vorbis tools, not the latest.

I use "oggenc.exe" taken from the latest compile (www.vorbis.com)
named RC3 http://www.vorbis.com/files/rc3/wind...rc3-win32.zip. (why do you still use RC1???)
Simply at command line:

C:\> oggenc -q2 myfile.wav mynewfile.ogg

very simply and you get RC3 enhancements

I you don't feel good command-line way the *official* and *ultimate* oggdrog is this RC3:

To make Nandub able to use RC3 Vorbis files you must download for www.vorbis.com the WIN32-SDK Vorbis Tools and update the 3 ogg/vorbis DLLs present in Nandub dir. (thanx to ChristianHJW)

oggdrop xp is rc1 but that rc corresponds to oggdrop xp, not the underlying ogg release. oggdrop xp rc1 is based on vorbis rc3
