Good Nero AAC settings in MeGUI
Hi, I'm trying to reduce the size of some AAC tracks, the source files are 130 kbit/s, 44100 Hz, I'm using these settings:
Preferred decoder: NicAudio Sample rate: Keep original Normalize peaks to: 100 VBR: 0.35 Profile: AAC-LC What's the difference between the preferred decoders? I've always used NicAudio but I'm not sure what's good, I'd like to make this file good for both Hi-Fi and headphones playback (pc/tv and phone), what settings would you recommend? (should I use HE-AAC? I read that it's not necessary for 80+ kbit/s and it doesn't work well on phones and portable players). Last edited by Guest; 18th December 2013 at 01:49. Your settings: VBR: 0.35 is the low quality recommended for NeroAacEnc.
If you want less quality/size use QAAC instead, better than NeroAacEnc at low bitrates (HE-AAC)
