Problem Erasing DVD-RW disc

I recently replaced my defective NEC 2510A burner with a TSST (Samsung) model SH-182M and cannot erase a previously burned DVD-RW disc using various software (Nero 6, TMPGEnc Author, etc.) Nero tech support told me to upgrade the TSST firmware. I did, but still have the problem. TSST support told me that I need to unfinalize the DVD first but they could not tell me how to do this with Nero. Has anyone ran across this type of problem before? The dvd-rw disc is Memorex and has not been burned more than a dozen times. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your now-replaced defective burner simply ruined the disc.

Try using a new/unused R/W disc and see if the same problem results...
