Cheers for the info setarip_old, just re-ripped twice over the weekend and the same thing is happening each time. using the latest DVDFab 8QT 8.1.6.1, so if anyone else has a solution to this strange problem it would be awsome.
Many thanks |

I don't know if it addresses your problem, but you can download 8.1.6.6 beta from http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=16846

Just curious, is this a newly released version or something? Serenity came out on Blu-ray about 4 years ago or something... I would think any version of the ripping tools made in the last few years would work fine with this...
That's the US release tho, maybe this is a recently released international version? |

I bought Serenity on HD-DVD. It was encoded with VC-1 and Dolby Digital Plus.
Out of interest, what video and audio formats are on the Blu-ray disc version?

I used AnyDVD HD + DGDecodeNV without any issues to recompress my Serenity bluray.
Edit: Sorry, nothing about menus >.> Last edited by Asmodian; 14th March 2012 at 19:56. |

But you said it plays fine up to the feature, can you see video? Like the menu loop and trailers or whatever? If so, the disc is ripped correctly. There's something else wrong on your system that's preventing playback. Do you hear audio and just no picture, or nothing at all? How about playing the feature .M2TS file by itself in Windows Media Player or PowerDVD? Have you ripped any other VC-1 Blu-rays? Are you sure you have a Blu-ray compatible VC-1 decoder installed on your computer? No one else has a problem ripping the disc, so we really can't help you without more information... |

@rik1138 yes menus and setting work ok but when i press to play movie it just goes black no sound nothing happens at all, ripped and coverted over 30 blurays so far without a problem e.g clash of the titans,bolt,super8,300,ironman2,terminator salvation ect..with menus. so it looks like it going to be just the movie without menus for this one then cheers for the comms Guys

Nobody is required to help you. If one does it is because s/he wants to help. You can't use sarcasm upon people even if you hired them ... much less when these [try to] help you for free...
