Which video source is better?

Which video source do you think looks better for converting Finding Nemo to iPod on this occassion judging by these screenshots.

Source is HDTV WOWOW vs PAL DVD UK.

The 3rd HDTV image looks good - maybe because of the image content.
Anyway, on placing mouse on any of the 4 images for the DVD image to show, you can clearly see artifacts have appeared on the DVD versions. The colours are richer though on the DVD versions.

hard to tell, but HDTV source has wrong levels (clearly see in 4th image). I would use PAL source, but on an ipod you likely wont notice much difference (after fixing levels) anyway

The DVD content looks better. The colors are more true with more contrast.

I thought the colour looked better from DVD and there was no crop from the top and sides but slight artifacts. I will go with the DVD, thanks for your input I forgot to mention but you probably guessed, those screenshots weren't from the source videos, they were from my encoded videos for iPod from each source. I want them to look good because they will be viewed on TV as well through a component cable and on other devices but need them to be iPod compatible so went with 1500 kbps, 640x480 anamorphic.

The PAL DVD source definitely looks better than the HDTV source with The Incredibles. Better colour and detail and only visible artifacts on Dash's face on the last pic. http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/33621
