I finally made the switch over to 1.0 and so far its been a breeze. Thanks everybody for all your efforts! Hopefully now that im catching up i can contribute some on the forum. Keep up the good work

I want to take this milestone as an opportunity to thank all the developers for their long hard work on the codec.

As for me, I have some rewriting to do...my FAQ has just become considerably outdated.

AFAIK the faq is up again btw. I will start updating it asap but I can't promise that'll be quick.

I'll keep this thread going and add my thanks to all those concerned who helped make XviD 1.0 a reality! I've done a bit of my own testing with this codec needless to say that "other" MPEG-4 codec will no longer be required.

I also can't believe how accurate the built in calc is (2 pass)! Run against a noisy 1 1/2 hour analogue cap, XviD produced a file which came within 1 MB of available space on a 700MB CD. Outstanding!

Looks like my mom's hardware player is gonna be running XVID encodes. Compatibility mode looks beautiful on her set. Thanks for the great work folks.
