preserving DD with GKnot 0.22 ?

When i encode the audio stream with GKnot 0.22, does it preserve the Dolby Surround?

DD = Dolby Digital but of course it preserves dolby surround.. you'll have a hard time finding any guide on my pages that wouldn't.
