filter? use histogram from picture and apply to video?

I have a video with completely messed up colors, i'm wondering if perhaps there is a filter that could pull the histogram from a picture and then be able to apply that to the video for correction?

any other ideas are appreciated as well.

thanks

thanks, i'll find a similar video i have and give this a try tomorrow. fingers crossed

in finding a similar video, is it more important when comparing say a sporting event to have teams with similar/same uniforms as the clip or to have the same venue (arena)/background as the clip?

Hard to say, you'll probably have to try it out

There might be other methods to treat it - it depends what you mean by "completely messed colors"

ok, i'll give it a try and see. color seems really greyed out is the best i can describe it. not sure what happened with the capture. played around a bit with colormill etc, but still doesn't look right. colors end up still not 'life like' and seem to kind of bleed at that point etc. not sure if i'll ever be satisfied, but i want to try.

Can you provide more information on the capture? Source, hardware etc....If you can recapture it properly , that would probably be a better idea

How about posting a screenshot or sample of the capture ?
