Hi!

While we're waiting for your attachment to be approved, I'll ask you:

What software and procedures did you use to rip your original BluRay disc (of "The Warlords") to your hard drive?
Wow! Thx 4 the prompt reply. And sorry about the attachment. I tried to attach the ini. file and it wouldn't take, so i copied it 2 a word document. I will try 2 use the "code" method should I need 2 attach a file in the future. Anyways to answer ur question... I used AnyDVD HD 6.6.8 and used the "Rip Video DVD to harddisk" option.

@jdobbs

(Not significant, but...) From what I've been able to determine, the "HD_COMPLIANT" hidden function no longer works properly in conjunction with "multiAVCHD" (Which is, as far as I know, the only tool that makes use of such modified BD-RB-created files). As has been discussed in the past, this apparently has to do with changes made to x264.exe over the past several months.

Although I've personally enjoyed its use - and am likely one of a very few who have done so - I'd suggest that you remove it as an option, "hidden" or otherwise, because after processing with BD-RB and multiAVCHD with no apparent flaws, the resultant files are unusable "slide shows" - unless, of course, you and "deank" choose to once again make your two wonderful tools compatible in this regard...

@PhilippeB, @jdobbs

Just to let you know that, with no special effort, I was able to make a perfectly good "movie-only" backup of the U.S.version of "Cop Out"...

Subs resizing code for 1080p -> 720p output

Hi jdobbs,

Any news on if you have found anytime to write the code to resize the subs when resizing at 1080p -> 720p for movie only projects (DVD-5). As the subs are a little on the big size and a little off centre in the final resized 720p project?

Many thanks

Few months ago clr2007 stumbled upon a blu-ray title in re-author mode with my tool. It turned out that one of the original mpls files in PLAYLIST folder was not a playlist file, but a xml or bdmv (but named 00xxx.mpls)... I can't remember exactly, but probably in very rear cases one may find files in places where they don't belong. I always check if mpls files start with "MPLS" and contain at least one playitem before processing.

I do the same check for 'MPLS", mainly because I know people sometimes have a tendency to "play" with things. Good idea on checking the playitem count, I'll add that as well.

What are you using for playback? I can't accept reports from software players -- they're too flakey. I would almost guarantee the problem is on your end since no one else is reporting it.

By the way, I just did that movie as movie-only -- I'll rerun it as a full BD-25 backup and see what I get.

I don't use software players. I am testing the backup on a samsung BDP2500 and also a PS3. It's possible that I am doing something. Might not be BD Rebuilder at all. I will tell you this though; I have ran the backup several times using two different computers (my new i7 and my old HP). I have also borrowed a friends copy of the same movie and still had the same issue.
This is the first and only disc that I have had a problem with.
I do appreciate you taking the time to look into it.

I do keep HD audio but that wouldn't have anything to do with it, would it?

Thank goodness. I was just about to buy the set. I like Star Trek -- but it's expensive to buy all these seasons.

My test is burning as I type. I'll run it and see how it goes. If I were you I'd remove all the helper apps (AVISYNTH, HAALI, and FFDSHOW), and also BD-RB and install from scratch using the downloads linked in the first post of this thread. Something is up -- it's possible you may be dropping frames at the end of each segment. Your're not resizing to 720p, are you? Frames can sometimes get dropped at the end of a segment when AVISYNTH/HAALI is used. So I changed BD-RB a few versions ago so it uses X264's internal demuxer/frame-server when doing multi-part encodes. But resizing still uses AVISYNTH.

I just played it back... no issues on my player. The multiple-m2ts points connect perfectly. I'm not sure what else I can do.

It's definitely got to be something on my end then. I will take your suggestion and do a fresh install of everything. It's the weirdest thing. I'm also going to try a different movie that has seamless branching tonight and see what the results are.
Just to confirm, at the 7:04-7:20 mark of the movie there was no stutter or hanging?
Also, would using open GOPs have anything to do with this?
Thanks again for your time and effort. A donation will definitely be forthcoming.

I don't know that I looked specificallly at that portion, I'll do it now.

[Edit] Yes, I checked that one... that would be the M2TS change with the Doctor in the lobby, followed shortly by another change where the man in bed "high-grabs" someone (within about a minute of the other change). Both work correctly.

@jdobbs

Did you miss the fact that "MB2" referred to being successful with an OLDER version of BD-RB?

I've got a problem for ya jdobbs. Check this one out. Problem also occurs with auto quality settings

Code:
[01:29:30] BD Rebuilder v0.34.06 (beta)
  - Source:  TWILIGHT
  - Input BD size: 44,78 GB
  - Approximate total content: [04:37:04.081]
  - Target BD size: 22,66 GB
  - Windows Version: 6.0 [6002]
  - Quality: High Quality (Default), Two Pass
  - Audio Settings: AC3=0 DTS=0 HD=1 Kbs=640
[01:29:31] PHASE ONE, Encoding
 - [01:29:31] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00000]
 - Error in attempt to extract audio/subs.
 - AV frame too large (34560 bytes). Increase AV buffer.
[01:31:30] - Failed to retrieve audio, aborted
BDREBUILDER.INI
Code:

** edit ** I was able to move past the problematic 2 minute mark by deselecting the LPCM stream. Does this mean it has something to do with that recently added LPCM option ? Will it affect my backup with that stream removed ?

Well, I have made a discovery. I now know for sure that the issue is not with BD Rebuilder. I tried the latest backup of HTTM on the PS3 and it played flawlessly. I then went back to the Samsung: Hanging and jerking at seamless branching points. Ran over to my friends and tried the disc in his Samsung: same issue. He also has a Sony bluray player. Tried it and the disc played fine. Conclusion: Problem with the Samsungs. Guess I will just have to wait for a firmware update to solve the issue. At least for now I have the PS3.
I thought for sure that I had tried out the PS3 previously on the first couple of attempts, but maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Anyway, problem solved (well not solved but source determined and its not BD Rebuilder). Thanks again jdobbs!!

@Ch3vr0n

Can you post the contents of your BDREBUILDER.INI. I'd like to do that one and see if I get the same error. It looks like a TSMUXER issue.

I would think you'd be fine without the LPCM track...
