ds.jar
I've just discovered ds.jar after a long and infuriating experience with PVAStrumento. The question I have is do I need to have the complete j2re installed to run it? I have just done a fresh XP install and I want to keep things lean.

I was aware of it's new location and its new GNU GPL status but my German language skills are poor. It is a good thing that the project is coded in English but bad that how to use is only in German. It is a excellent piece of software and a credit to the author/s talents. Herr BB can you help. What are those German forums saying about Project X08 (formerly ds.jar)

Thanks BB, I am aware of 'X' but not sure what it has to offer over the old DS. I, too, only speak english unfortunately.

Joe_Bloggs,
if you look at http://forum.lucike.de/viewtopic.php...acfe6e59fb84c2 you'll find that the changelogs are in English. As I already mentioned "Project X" is the successor of ds.jar. Currently it's new features - besides bug fixes - are: - new cutting function - a preview window Hope that helps. bb |

I have been here before in a locked thread.
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...ghlight=ds.jar Situations change! I just wanted to know if everyone agreed that it was GPL and was legitimately published and set free by the author. |

In the 'Windows XP' update section there is this: -
Q810243 Update: Watch television shows recorded by Media Center PCs on other Microsoft Windows XP PCs Download size: 587 KB This supplement is an update to Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). Users who want to play Media Center PC digital recording files (.dvr-ms) in any other Windows XP SP1 system should download this update. You must use a player that supports DirectShow® and have a Windows XP compatible DVD decoder installed. Windows Media® Player Series 9 is an example of a DirectShow player that can support .dvr-ms files with this download. Can somebody please explain what '.dvr-ms' is?
