All my templates are for creating files of 172 MB, including the Default Template, but the file at a time out with another 93 mb to 280 mb, I open the file file in MediaInfo is the bitrate of the video is very different in what was displayed in StaxRip unfortunately I did the donkey to delete the files, I'm currently converting the same files via script done in notepad (DirectShowSource + Virtualdub) to see if the problem is with Xvid, I convert the back end and send you the log. Thank you. Note: When I used Divx (6.8.0) worked properly, except the error at the end of the encode (in the same error that I reported on earlier), but the file is normal, without error and about the size as indicated .

The problem was in the xvid, I had the same problem in VirtualDub, although the difference is smaller, the way is to try the divx.

Stax, did versions prior to 1.1.1.6 use VFW to open xvid as well? I think for newer versions of Windows such as Windows 7 Directshow may be the better course of action, since VFW is a relic of the Windows 3.1/9x days...

Taxi still crashes after audio encoding when ffmpeg starts(as with files I sent you for 1.1.6) not sure what is happening there, I used same settings and different input and it worked fine.

Having a little absent minded problem I do I set staxrip to import chapters from input and apply to final file?

@ turok did you right click on filters window and select edit. and add filter in format

filter = filter(settings).anyOtherFilter(Settings)

How do I set the resolution of a template? I try to convert a series of videos (Batch Conversion) from 720p to 720x400, but the Stax always changes to the resolution of 672x384.

@flebber

Sorry, I forgot to fix it, I'll do tommorow (no programming today). StaxRip don't extract chapters, it wasn't a issue in the past as DVD Decrypter did it, since then nobody made a request IIRC.

@Havokdan

StaxRip has a lot aspect ratio and resizing related options, please search and try to understand these options. (In the options dialog disable 'Auto resize image size'.

Would an option to be able to be added to add a chapter.txt file so Staxrip can use it. I could then use ChapterExtractor to create the files and simple plug the text files into staxrip

I'm not sure about the format, I'm not using chapters or subtitles and these features were added 5 years ago. In the 'Container Configuration' there is a feature to preview the command line.

Hi!

I saw in a guide that for x264 there is or was a fixed filesize profile... for some reasons, I dont have it. can you tell me why?

A fixed filesize profile? Surely you are referreing to the type of passes fixed filesize 2 pass versus constant quality or CRF. NOt a profile.

@thax

Welcome to the forum. It's likely not a StaxRip bug, please use google and the forum search to find a solution and if it don't help post to the AVC forum.

Since it's frequently asked I finally wrote a little guide on how to use AviSynth filters in StaxRip. The link to this guide can be found in the initial post of this thread.

@flebber

I've uploaded a hotfix, the project you've sent me had a audio profile only accepting AC3 as input, you have to change this to accept wav when you force decoding. Your profiles had 6 channels so you will get a very large wav file!
