yea, you need correct decoder (but afaik latest ffdshow should handle it...)
also.. about bitrate/size and dts-ma: the dts-ma is encoded at variable bitrate.. so when copy it it's near impossible to achive correct size BHH

if you copy dts-ma HDC will compute
1536kbps if core is stripped 3840kbps (very empirical) if core is keeped BHH

@buzzqw
The manual still refers to v1327. For some reason you have deleted under "Compression Test" that for 1-pass encodes the crf (or quant) as selected by the user in the Video Encoder Tab is used for the compression test. I find this to be a useful feature because it allows to estimate the expected video file size of a 1-pass (crf) encode. With 2 or 3 quick trial-and-error compressioin tests one can estimate the resulting crf (or quant) to approximately fill the target medium with a fast 1-pass encode (actually these iterations could even be automated....) |

I just want to make sure of something. Has anyone else gotten an m2ts made by HDC to successfully stream to the PS3? I'm not having any luck, and if someone else is I'd like to know what the proper settings are. I'm going for X264+ac3 in m2ts. Thanks.

Otherwise, I'm not sure how else to go about doing this. Even commercial DVD ripping tools required at least twice the DVD's capacity in available HDD space for the exact same reason. And how can you expect to deal in BR discs if you don't have at least 100 gb of free disc space? Even an external USB disc can be cheaply aquired for use as temporary working space. |

Thanks for the welcome, I wonder if you want to add in the future, the option to open .Mp4.
When I said fast first pass, I saw that was when I add a conversion in a queue, the row of the first step and second step has the same controls except for number of step. Disabling some unnecessary options in the first step in the conversion would be faster? When I convert in VirtualDub, using the same configuration and combination of avisynth filters, the step 1 is faster than with Hdconvertox? This tool you are developing is that for many years I looked online because I am fan of anime and would like to see them on my DVD player that has support for divx / xvid. Thanks again. Sorry bad English, Translated by Google Translation, I read better than writing in English. |

interesting, but it is too complicated for me: D For now I find good results of Spline36Resize Audio section Question: When "Force DirectShowSource as decoder" is chosen, is there any chance to process the other audio tracks too? If i select the second track, in the final mkv, i find i only have the first track twice. This option is the only one that in the process ac3-640 (or AAC) to ac3-448 keep the volume like the original. If i use eac3to, with or without normalization, the volume is significantly lower and it seem also, i don't know how say...different |

I'd like to ask a stupid question.
What is the difference between HDC h264 at crf 0 (for lossless encode) and the lossless h264 profile in autoMKV? I ask because the AutoMKV profile produced nice high quality encodes at only slightly higher filesize than crf 18, and was about twice as fast at doing it. I'd like to be able to replicate that behavior in HDC. Everyone says CRF 18 is transparent, but it really isn't, especially in scenes with lots of fog or smoke. And CRF 16 increases the file size exponentially, as well as the encode times, and doesn't produce much better of a picture. Lossless encodes (from AutoMKV) looked great, and were a great filesize to boot. Any possibility of getting that profile, or something close to it, in HDC for h264 encodes? Edit: I think I figured it out. I just took the command line from AutoMKV and copied it into the HDC profiles file. Encoding now. Got a few warnings: Code:
E:\Programs\HDConvertToX\temp>"E:\Programs\HDConvertToX\applications\x264.exe" - -crf 16 --threads auto --thread-input --no-psnr --progress --qp 0 --keyint 250 - -bframes 0 --qpmin 0 --qpmax 51 --no-psnr --ref 1 --filter 0,0 --subme 2 --direc t temporal --vbv-maxrate 25000 --me hex --no-ssim --level 4.1 --merange 12 --nf --b-adapt 1 --partitions p8x8,b8x8,i4x4,p4x4 --threads auto --thread-input --sa r 1:1 --output "E:\Programs\HDConvertToX\temp\hdconverttox_vts_01_1.h264" "E:\P rograms\HDConvertToX\temp\hdconverttox_vts_01_1.avs" --level 4.0 avis [info]: 720x336 @ 23.98 fps (157140 frames) x264 [info]: using SAR=1/1 x264 [warning]: VBV bitrate (25000) > level limit (20000) x264 [info]: using cpu capabilities: MMX2 SSE2Fast FastShuffle SSEMisalign LZCNT x264 [warning]: VBV maxrate specified, but no bufsize. x264 [info]: profile High 4:4:4 Predictive, level 4.0 [4.6%] 7190/157140 frames, 50.18 fps, 16863.21 kb/s, eta 0:49:48 It seems there shouldn't be a CRF value if we're using x264 lossless encoding. Edit 2: On a new issue. I fixed my problem with WMP12 crashing when trying to open an M2ts file. Also fixed the annoying com surrogate crash that MS blames on Haali media splitter. I had this software called AVSYOU that had crappy conflicting codecs that were messing me up, but I digress. Anyway, since I had m2ts playback fixed (included BR content decrypted with AnyDVD) i decided to give BR conversion a go again, and here's what happenned: Code:

Media Player classic says "Cannot render the file." FFDShow already has VC-1 set to wmv 9. However, media player classic will open the file directly, instead of trying to open the avs.
When HDC analyzes the file, this is what pops up Perhaps therein lies the problem? Also, I have another problem. I tried to do a 2 pass encode x264+ac3 in m2ts, and got a 0 byte sized file output. Here's the code. Code:
