help ripping movie

ok i can rip a movie now, but how can i rip just the movie, no extra features and stuff that comes on the dvd? i use smartripper, dvd decripter and calddvd and suggestions?

Just select the main movies files and click on the transfer button.

how do i know which ones are the main movie files? also can dvd ripping hurt my dvd drive? i heard some people talking about it

They are the 'VTS' set with the biggest files.
Usually all around 1 GB in size. Ignore the VTS_XX_0.VOB file because that isnt actually part of the movie - it is the menu system that you see when you play the disk.

In the 'Edit' menu on DVD Decrypter, you will see a 'Select Main Movie File' option - just click that. Note: By default, when the program first loads up these files are already selected for you.
