Time to see if they fixed the CUDA initialization time in CoreAVC 2.0...and whether high bitrate h264 still hiccups in mVR. Last edited by leeperry; 19th December 2009 at 13:37. |

I was using the DivX 7 H.264 decoder but I purchased CoreAVC 2.0 after hearing *somewhere* that DivX 7 has a possibility for non-bit perfect output in some *forgotten* scenario(not that I would notice, though). Well, and sometimes I need to change input levels to PC.
I used to care for CUDA, but now I know my graphics card is just way too weak to be pushing both video and video renderer. D: Also, if I seek too much in MadVR, my media player(MPC-HC) will freeze up. |

it usually freezes for me if I go windowed<>fullscreen a few times...it's like D3D exclusive in MPC, it learns you to stop messing around and watch the damn movie already
I leave h264 decoders in TV range, no levels problems here...well, except when the files were encoded in 0-255 or stuff like that. |

<- has assigned Ctrl+Alt+Q to kill all instances of mpc-hc.exe, though, it never works when I want it to, and the [windows] shortcut dies (by itself?) every so often.. Quote:
I'll redo/convert them.. some day... well, actually I tried before, but some were VFR and went out of sync, and some others were CFR, but went out of sync anyways and besides, I'm a suck encoder with little time. D: ..oh well, random. |

Funny this.. I tried Alt+Enter a few times, and then holding Alt+Enter, but it wouldn't freeze. Then I close MPC-HC, and then the screen freezes instantly (except for pointer) for about 5 mins..

oh yes, I've already encountered nasty freezes for several minutes that nothing could possibly stop...once w/ some beta nvidia drivers(that are getting worse by the hour when it comes to custom resolutions, I should prolly roll back to 185.x) and another time w/ the 195.x...exactly the same, I tried to close the player and major freeze! anyway, it's a beta and madshi said he'd improve stability at some point.
and about CoreAVC CUDA 2.0, small bitrate(<10mbit) files work just fine(only had tearing once), but for high bitrate 1080p there still seems to be some tearing happening from time to time. |

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm having terrible horizontal tearing about a quarter of the way up the screen when I set my TV refresh rate to 24hz. I don't get any tearing if I set the screen to 60hz, but then I get awful judder. When using EVR custom I don't get any tearing at 24hz. Is there any way I can get MadVR to work at 24hz? (XP SP3, ATI 4550). |
