vc1 elementary
Hello Dean,
I've been following the thread for a while (and trying to keep up ), great program. A really good feature would be to accept an elementary vc1 stream. At the moment my workflow is to demux via eac3to as from what I've read it handles the multi branching titles better than others. Then use tsmuxer to create a m2ts from the vc1 or if its an avc go directly to multiavchd. I understand vc1 is not part of the avchd spec but as it works on a ps3 and a lot of bluray and hd dvd are encoded that way, it would be very useful. If its not possible perhaps you could remove the warning messages when creating avchd for a ps3 Thanks Simon |

I added *.vc1 elementary streams support and the warning will be shown only when creating [AVCHD for DVD/BD-R] or [AVCHD for Panasonic SDHC/TV].

It would be nice that the setting "delete temp files"
a) remove only the files created during the process and not all files of the directory (I've just lost some files , not very important, but anyway...) b) delete also the empty directories created. |

a) You need to set a TEMP folder to be used ESPECIALLY by multiAVCHD
b) Delete temp deletes TEMP files... that's it... If I could have made it delete folders I would have done it. * late edit * I'm reviewing all the 11000 lines of multiAVCHD code to find what's preventing folder deletion. It was bothered me since the beginning anyway. Last edited by deank; 6th May 2009 at 19:56. |

Just to let all users who may get "This version is expired" message.
You shouldn't tweak your system date/time. Each mutliAVCHD build will only work within specific time-range (random +/- few weeks), based on the REAL DATE. If you have the latest full download/latest update and you're part of our universe - it will all work. I've seen a lot of messages in various forums that their latest multiAVCHD build won't work - well - it won't if you cheat. Another reminder: Download multiAVCHD only from the links in the first post, from Softpedia, DigitalDigest or VideoHelp (thanks to whoever cares for all the updates@videohelp). deank Thank you very much for your program. I never thought possible to play HD video from a SDHC card with Panasonic BD-30. I appreciate all your work.
One question please if i may. Is DTS audio supported? I have been successful with AC3 and either 1280X720 or 1920X1080 video but have not had chance to test DTS from dvd+r or dvd+r dl is DTS and DTS HD audio's supported via AVCHD folder output? or it must be downmixed to 640 kbps ac3? |

Yes, a lot of people reported that DTS and DTS-MA work in their Panasonic BD players via SD card.

Build 566:
I decided to share with you an undocumented function of multiAVCHD * If you don't need a menu * If your video files don't need the fix of the green-bar (i.e. your files are 720x480, 720x576, 1280x720, 1440x1080 or 1920x1080) * If you enable [x] Panasonic SDHC ouput you can put up to 255 titles in one compilation. Output is directly compatible with Panasonic BD players, Viera TV sets, Playstation 3 with USB, SDHC or MemoryStick card. You can of course apply AVCHDme-undo (convert 8.3 filenames to long format) and burn the output BDMV folder to a DVD or BD-R disc and play it in any other Blu-ray player. I hope someone finds it useful. Dean *** EDIT *** in build 566+: If you have [x] No menu checked and creating Panasonic output - filenames will be in 8.3 format - suitable for SDHC/USB/MS (the way it was working before) If you have [x] Create top menu checked and creating Panasonic output - you'll get a pop-up question if you want to use long-filenames (for burning to DVD/BD-R) or use 8.3 name format. (it is useful if you're creating 40+ titles to play in blu-ray players via optical media - it will save you the time to rename all files with other tools from 8.3 to long filenames). The second case is the same as having another button saying [AVCHD for DVD/BD-R without menu in case of 41 to 255 titles] In both cases - menu is skipped and not created, but you already know that. Few things in store for you
* 19 pages for Classic (list) menu (18 pages x 14 titles + 3 = 255 titles max) * 37 pages (x 7 titles) for Thumbnail menu (36 pages x 7 titles + 3 = 255 titles max) * 255 scrollable titles in XMB (with "skip 10" button - as suggested by zoner for faster scrolling) * Carousel styled menu (designed by Atak_Snajpera) * Thumbnails for chapters/title backgrounds will be saved in output folder and adding titles to existing structure will take seconds instead of 20-30 mins. I got kind of tired waiting for 1 title addition to 20 existing. It was in my plans since I added this 'poster image" (unavailable) option. Dean Last edited by deank; 7th May 2009 at 19:54. |

As tests proved - max title count is 254.
I'm ready to release next build with full support of 254 titles in all modes (not Panasonic only). I completely rewrote some code. Still classic/list and thumbnail menu type are restricted. XMB styled menu can have 254 scrollable titles (no 10+ skip button yet). If you want to test the new version you'll need DAT update + build update or full download. Dean build 567+: Max title count is 252. Title editor will show 1-252 titles in 9 screens for title-name editing. Last edited by deank; 8th May 2009 at 17:17. |

Hey Dean, can you check if something went wrong with the "Force subtitle track #1" option in the latest build? I've just done a full download and install of the latest build and just remuxed a new TV episode in AVCHD USB mode with subtitles using the "Force" option (as I do every second day...) - and the subtitles weren't forced, I had to enable them manually on the PS3...
Hmmm. Best, Gero |

Build 569
* Few bugs fixed * Log output changed * Warning if importing/processing more than 252 titles *** I'll try to adapt the oldest menu (list/classic) to 28+ titles. I'm glad to say that my tests with 'backed-up' title backgrounds+chapters works fine and I'll add it in some of the next builds. It will affect only XMB-styled menu, |

I tried another disc in the Samsung 1500 and still the same. I burned just the bdmv and no certificate folder.
I looked at the log only just noticed this bit "Error while creating top menu pages!" . The disc still works ok in the Sony 350. So I downloaded the whole program and reinstalled avisynth again and this time no menu error. This is the second time something has gone wrong with the menu generation and a complete reinstall fixed it. I won't know it works until I get access to the Samsung player again. This is the old log. I'm glad to say that build 570 is ready.
multiAVCHD.exe got smaller and faster, multiAVCHD.dat is half the size it was before. * Classic (list) menu can now have 18 pages * Thumbnail menu can have 36 pages * Few bugfixes [LEFT] [RIGHT] will move you through the pages for faster browsing. (only forward move in Classic menu) Speed (without the time needed to convert titles to AVCHD) 252 titles are processed: * in about 8 minutes if no menu is generated (only playlist processing) * in about 10 minutes in Classic-menu mode and 18 menu pages are generated * in about 14 minutes in Thumbnail-menu mode and 36 menu pages are generated * in about 38 minutes in XMB-menu mode and 252 menu pages are generated (without chapter-thumbnails) Space: 252 titles require about 130MB for menu pages. All limits are now lifted. The only thing left is 12-chapter thumbnail restriction. Next thing that will be changed are the thumbnails for XMB (saved for later use).
