I'm selecting the DTS HD audio track (English). Tried it 3 times now. Same result.

Played the original BD structure back through the same player and the audio is fine.

I found a new bug in the dark knight!, is not related with the encode, everything is ok.

The bug is: when the feature "play movie with focus points" is ON and the disc icon appears on the left corner, after press the enter button (to view the behind the scenes stuff of that scene) is played the BTS of another scene...

ie: when i press the enter button in the movie when the joker detonates the hospital a BTS of how they filmed IMAX scenes will play.

I got an unusual undersize on Black Swan backup to BD25: it was 21,880,101,204 bytes, or 87% of a BD25, whereas for quite some time, all my BD25 backups have been consistently 95% +/- 1%, no more deviation than that. I always set the option to retain only the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders, and these were the only folders retained, but the original rip did have one additional folder, DCOPY, containing 2,089,247,182 bytes of data: adding this to the size of the generated backup gives a sum which is ~96% of BD25 capacity. I suspect the math allocating bitrates to the video streams was done prior to subtracting the room saved by dropping the (unusually large) extraneous content in the original rip.

No worries mate, when it comes to backing up discs i'm a patient man. I'm only doing full disc backups so if 37.08 only has movie-only mode i can wait some more. Proof of that is that i have several DTS-Express discs already ripped to my harddrive and ready to be compressed with a DTS-E capable BDRB.

How's it coming on that end by the way ? Any luck ?

The encode is ok. but when the traileres start (before movie) don't have sound, and the extras don't have sound to. The movie is ok.

Are you sure you have sound selected for the language in use? What does BD-RB say in the streams list?

Contents of the Log, INI file, and INF files?

I believe that if you are making a BD-9 or BD-5, your problem will be resolved if you click on "Settings" and put a checkmark next to "Do not convert DTS to AC3(Blu-ray only)". The disc has more than one type of DTS (HD and SD) - and otherwise, this seems to cause some confusion...

Has the ability to convert a European (1080i50) Bluray to a US-spec bluray been added?

If not, any suggested work-arounds?

I Am Legend: reencode to BD25, @ ~18:10 into the .m2ts of the alternate version of the film (00006.m2ts), video pauses briefly then turns grey, audio continues uninterrupted, video resumes moments later but behind the audio by about the amount of time the video had been frozen and greyed out.
Log shows no problems with encode or muxing for this file:

[07:27:06]JOB: I_AM_LEGEND finished.
Note that while video encoding of 00009.m2ts initially failed, it successfully retried, and the reencoded file shows no problems whatsoever.

Walking Dead, Season 1, Disc 2: reencode to BD25, @ ~33:45 into the .m2ts of the final episode (00101.m2ts), video pauses briefly then turns grey, audio jumps ahead twice quickly, video resumes moments later but behind the audio by about the amount of time the video had been frozen and greyed out. I had unfortunately already deleted the logfile prior to discovering the issue.

I am not overclocked. X264 has crashed and needed to restart during approximately 3 encodes since changing to BD-RB 0.37.07, and rarely if ever prior to that.

Could be a hardware issue on this end, but other than this I've been fairly stable for quite some time on this machine and using it with BD-RB near-constantly for months (two-pass very-slow earns its name on my outdated machine!).

@A.Fenderson

Are you experimenting with other versions of the software I have linked in the first post of this thread? What you are describing sure sounds like it.

I suggest you try this recommendation from the setup instructions:
Quote:
8. Recommended for Windows XP only: Download and install WMV11 from Microsoft, and set VC-1 decoding to "disabled" in FFDSHOW (allowing the WMV11 codec to be used). This seems to be the codec with the fewest problem on VC-1. For Vista or Windows 7 -- select "wmv9"

Wow, I missed that somehow. Thanks, I'll do that.

I'm also running Windows Memory Diagnostic (the tool is a bootable 32-bit program you run from CD, so can test 4GB RAM max, but otherwise it works on any system), in the extended tests mode, and it will run 9+ hours while I'm away, so if there is a RAM problem that should find it--I've had it catch problems with a bad stick in the past. If it's useful for anyone else, Vista (and presumably 7) have a version of this built-in.

Please Help. Why am I getting the "FAILED VIDEO ENCODE" error.

@rccland

Completely uninstall AVISYNTH, HAALI, FFDSHOW, and BD-RB. Then install them all from scratch. Sometimes other programs change defaults or intercept CODECs and INSPECT won't catch it. A reinstall will usually fix it.

Thanks JDOBBS. I will try your suggestion. As for install instruction I will follow the instruction thats posted on the first page of this forum.

Also just for a test I tried to re-build CASINO ROYALE and it worked fine. It worked fine before so I thought if I did mess up the settings then CASINO ROYALE wont work this time but it worked FINE

Just something to think about.
