You don't know what is weird indeed; have you noticed any dts encoder (dtsencoder.ax) and nobody knows what it is for?

That is the question which we would hopefully expect to be answered by madshi.

Unfortunately, at the moment the whole ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater suite is necessary for DTS-HD decoding. See this thread. Especially post #32 by madshi.

And Scenarist wants to have a combined TrueHD+AC3 file? And then it properly muxes that? I would have thought that an authoring tool like Scenarist would want to get separate TrueHD and AC3 files, no?

@Madshi
It can accept only combined TrueHD & AC3 Core file.
Secondly, can you please add any feature to combine already seperated Core & TrueHD Track by Eac3to?

Regards,
Sehgal

Just had a clean winxp prof sp1+sp2+sp3 install and installed TotalMediaTheatre_Retail_INTRO_E.exe.

DTS decoding did only work after I copied MagCore.dll, MagPCMac.dll, MagUIEngine.dll and MagUIInter.dll from Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Bin\ to eac3to\

Has anyone gotten the arcsoft decoder to work with eac3to under vista 64? If so, PLEASE provide some details on how to make it work!

Thanks

Please do not discuss how to get around installing the full ArcSoft software package in this thread. I don't want to have this discussion here. If you must discuss it, please use a different thread. Thanks.

Hi madshi. I don't know if you are talking about my post. But i just like to state that this could be a bug. I have sp3 installed and installed the intro version that I can legally try for 15 days, they have a download button on the site.

When i did eac3to -test, it did not recognized the arcsoft install. When I wanted to convert a dts file, eac3to gave errors that it couldn't find MagCore.dll, MagPCMac.dll, MagUIEngine.dll and MagUIInter.dll.

When they are in the eac3to dir, arcsoft is recognized and decoding works.

I have read in this thread that you don't have sp3 installed, that's why I posted the message. Maybe this only happens with sp3.

I also found out that the arcsoft install directory has different versions dll's (1.0.0.129) than the dll's (1.0.0.148) in Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Bin\

Kaspersky reports backdoor trojan in HookSurcode.dll

When I download eac3to.zip from madshi's site, Kaspersky Internet Security is reporting that the file HookSurcode.dll contains a trojan backdoor, "Backdoor.Win32.Hupigon.dgde"

Are other Kaspersky users (or other malware detectors) seeing this?

If it is a false positive, any idea why or how to address this?

@kweek, I didn't mean your post. I don't mind if people discuss about how to make a full ArcSoft installation work, e.g. by extending the search path or things like that. What I don't want is people to discuss in this thread how to install the DirectShow filters, only, because that could promote illegal use of the ArcSoft software. And I don't want eac3to to have anything to do with that. There's only one way to make sure that eac3to can stay alive - and that is to get far away from any illegal activities.

Just check a few posts back. That has been discussed a day or two before.
