To all who can't get ADVDInfo work

EDIT fixed links

Download the latest cdrtools and cdrecord-prodvd

Open a dos windows (windows 2000: "cmd", windows 98: "command"), find out the scsi host address of your dvd writer (Possible with Nero or, if you prefer, cdrecord -scanbus), and write:

cdrecord-prodvd -dev=x,y,0 -atip
(with x,y being your host address)

This requires a working aspi layer!

OMG, it works! Thanks a lot, alexnoe.

Ah, just a note: cdrecord parameters are case-sensitive.

What does this command do, btw? (Just before I blindly download and use it)

This is what I get. What does it mean? I don't see "manufacturer"

Maybe your drive doesn't support reading of manufacturer Did you really insert a dvd-r, or was it a dvd-ram?

It was a blank DVD-R. Maybe you're right. Is that possible? Any else have a Panasonic?

I'll ask the author or cdrecord if this is possible...
OK, he says that it's possible that some drives might not support reading of manufacturer info.

hp dvd200e

Nero shows the device at scsibus 4, target 0.
'cdrecord-prodvd' lists a disk drive at that location.
Is this an artifact of a using a 'firewire' connection?

Just to let you know, the new version of DVD Decrypter (3.1.4.0) also displays this information when in ISO modes.

I do not see that version (3.1.4.0) on your site. Is it available?

OBW, great tool and I will be making a donation to support your work.

Best regards,

RM
