4:3 widescreen (LB) > 16:9

Is there any simple way of converting a 4:3 WS image to 16:9.
This would involve stretching the vertical image, filling more of the verical screen. The horizontal image would of course be ok when stretched to 16:9.

The vertical resolution would of course be reduced as several pixels at at time would in fact be showing the same vertical information.

Thanks
