Okay I found a very nice setting for the HDR to SDR conversion, all I had to do is to lower some the Brightness (-40) setting in MPC-HC (or madVR) with 400 nit setting.
Sorry to cause some turbulance with my requests.

I had used the same Amd GPU from 13.x to 15.x and I would say there is not much performance difference. The only difference is that some may crash madvr or f up deinterlacing or use some stupid power management. The crimson crash 32bit pot player on fury.

Just see what sort of result I get, won't make much difference but whatever. I'll check it out in Avisynth.

If you could post the subtitle file, and the settings.bin from the madVR folder to some web upload service (I use wikisend as it's fast and free of dangerous and intrusive ads, but anything else can be used instead), and also take screenshots with the madVR OSD active (Ctrl + J) so that your scaling settings are visible, that will likely help.
The settings : settings.reg

The subtitles : subtitles.srt

Subtitle n°60 :

Subtitle n°61 :

I'm using MPC-HC internal subtitles renderer for now because it doesn't have this bug, but I hope it can be fixed, because the subtitles look better with XySubFilter.

Hi, I'm currently using Win7 (x64) with 32bit MPC-HC, LAV, and MadVR
I want to use mpc-hc for 3d video instead of powerdvd, this is because it's annoying to have 2 different players.

Q: In Jan madshi posted that Win8.1 was preferential to Win10. Is this still the case?

Q: Should I install Win8.1 or Win10, and should I go with 32 or 64 bit? Or am I better sticking with my current setup and PowerDVD for 3d playback for now, as there are still issues to be sorted?

My current specs are:
Intel i3-2100 / 12GB RAM / HD7770 GPU / Samsung HU6400 (1080P 3D) / Use 60hz PC mode for all non 3d video.

Thanks
Kiwi

I'm using 100 hz laptop monitor and Potplayer + madvr . how come I had Display 100.00000Hz steady. it didn't move at all. I don't know what affected it or what did it, but now it always moves between 100.00392-410. anyone has idea what could affect it and how to make it stuck on 100.00000Hz steady ?

steady 100.00000 sounds more like a bug for me it looks like the refresh rate was incorrectly read in the past.

Fellows, I want to start a movie with these parameters:
levels=tripleExp
blacklevel=+26
whitelevel=+50
gamma=2.6

then switch back to default and compare between the two, can it be done?

Putting a text file named: "levels=tripleExp, blacklevel=+26, whitelevel=+50, gamma=2.6.txt" doesn't work
Changing the folder name to this does but gamma value does not change (no gamma tag?).
I need a quick one button switch for this test.

EDIT:
Okay, Profiles with a key shortcut works to change the Gamma, but what about the other commands?
"Command line to execute when this profile is activated" should do the trick along with a "keyboard shortcut to this profile" the but what are the command line?
filename tags don't work as "command lines".

There's no way to quickly toggle between the adjustments and the original. That would be useful though.
I requested gamma tags a long time ago, but madshi seemed opposed to the idea for some reason.
That said, even in its current state, the tags are so useful. Though it's not too common, I have a handful of Blu-rays which would have a completely washed-out picture if it were not for these controls.

Yes my profile changes the gamma in the "color & gamma" section but I want to add the rest in the "Command line to execute when this profile is activated".
But it doesn't seem to work.

Also when I try to rename a Profile, madVR setting window skips around so I can't type anything.
Maybe it's a bug? or maybe not.

madshi, executing tags from a profile will be very useful indeed.
Changing many setting with a click of a button, very useful for comparison.

I wanted to ask this.

IS there any way to supersample a very large image, or supersample an image to a very large resolution using madVR (regardless of how long it takes?)?

For example, I want to supersample an image of 1920x1080 to something much bigger than my monitor's resolution, like 7680×4320, then output the resulting image to a file.

Any way I can do this using madVR?

madVR can only output to screen, not file.
You can use something based on AviSynth or the likes to output to files.

You can always use the player to ask madvr for resolution much larger than you monitor resolution using some sort of scale function. Then use player to capture the frame.

Two questions please....

1. Im using JRiver player with Madvr, and the JVC RS600 proj. To set contrast and brightness 16/235, do I turn that area off in the windows card settings and only use the settings in madvr or do I use both? Im wanting to resolve 17 and 234 so I should be using Limited, do I set Limited on both the windows and and the madvr end or just one?

2. I want to use/test sharpness settings for 1080p in madvr but JRiver has these turned off. I believe there is a way to get them to work with JRiver with some add on, can someone help me please?

Thanks in advance....

Read the description on RGB levels in this post: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?...942#pid2238942.

You have three options but, yes, you do need to set this value in madVR and the GPU control panel.

Thanks for the response but they say sharpness isn't available in madvr when using JRiver, they disabled it.

Sorry, I was replying to #1 and not #2.

I believe you can manually update the version of madVR used by JRiver, but you would have to research how to do this. It may be as simple as finding the madVR installation folder in JRiver and replacing it with a version downloaded from the first post of this forum. I'm not sure if you would have to run the install.bat. JRiver is simply using an older version of madVR.

Guys/Gals,
can somebody tell me which version of XySubFilter should it be used so I can benefit the most from madVR's options?
Will the latest one from here
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=168282
suffice?
I remember that some time ago madshi did some custom patching of this filter ... and I'm not sure from where to get his work ...
also is there a new/specific version that will work for 3D subtitles or all the heavy lifting is done by madVR and LAV filters?

I think that is the right place. If your version of XySubFilter is too old, madVR will provide you with a warning when playing a video. The latest version of XySubFilter should do all of the things you want it to when paired with the most recent versions of LAV Filters and madVR.
