Using MeGUI to encode videos for PSP?

Hi, ever since I've had a PSP (PSP-3000 model), I've never been able to watch a video on it. It says that the file has to be a MP4, but even if the file is MP4, my PSP tells me that the format is unsupported. I tried using MeGUI with the x264:PSP setting, but it didn't work either. Can anyone with a PSP who doesn't have this problem tell me what I can do to make my MP4 videos work?

Also, I did see the XviD4PSP thread, but that program doesn't have MP4 as one of its import formats.

To add on:
Video resolution of not more than 480 x 272
Can't remember the audio profile but I use MeGUI's AAC profile 64Kbps/96Kbps.

this is what you need...
Code:
--profile main --level 3 --weightp 0 --ref 3 --b-pyramid 0 --no-weightb --vbv-maxrate 10000 --vbv-bufsize 10000
_

L.E. resolution is up to 720x576 (DAR 16:9)

Thanks guys. I used the line that b66pak posted and Lighto was right about the resolution. It worked, but the audio didn't work though. It was making an horrible sound. All I did with the audio was extract the mp3 from the original file and mux it with the new encoded video. Are there restrictions when it comes to audio as well?

Can you describe the "horrible sound"?

Weightp 1 works fine with newer versions of x264, and the vbv limits aren't really needed, considering PSPs can play stuff over 10mbps. Weightb can also be left on, as far as I know.

Uhm, it's tough to describe. It's a loud screeching sound.

Edit: I encoded the audio using the NERO AAC: NDAAC-HE-64kbps profile and it works now. I also did what Temuthril said and it works also. Thanks for all the help!

WOW! I didn't know that PSP can restore full frequency range (22050hz -> 44100hz)

If the player is not capable of using the side information that has been transmitted alongside the "normal" compressed audio data, it may still be able to play the "baseband" data as usual, resulting in a dull (since the high frequencies are missing), but otherwise mostly acceptable sound. This is for example the case if an mp3PRO file is played back with mp3 software incapable of utilizing the side information.
